Carter is an idiot just answering pre=screened audience questions.

Well, if nothing else, Huckabee came off very smoothly and handled Russert's pointy-headed questions about gay rights and taxes. I'm not saying I'm ready to join his campaign, but it was a good start for him.

The teacher is certainly 'to the left', and my grandson loves to yank her chain. His little brother yanks the chain of his 8th grade social studies teacher. (Makes me proud to be their Memaw!)

I saw a little bit of the Terry McSlimeball book party on CSPAN last night. I had to change the channel.

Yup, he did good.

I really like Jeb Bush, too. He's a good man and a strong conservative.

But, I would not support his candidacy for President for the same reasons.

America needs to break the Clinton/Bush cycle. This cycle is simply unhealthy. It excludes fresh blood and brings us perilously close to monarchy rule.

IMHO, of course ;-)

I have not explored this link yet, but it's supposed to have Jeb Bush's entire address.

John Edwards and his 2 Americas...rich and poor; Hillary and her 2 voices...strident and girlish.

So you are saying that the smartest woman in the world has the same insight about her singing voice as some American Idol constestants!

How many Sundays has she ever shared in hymn singing?
How many birthday parties did the Clinton family share with just each other?

The word 'zero' comes to mind.

"Born to be Mild"

That was a great response. Personally, I liked the way he presented himself: Practical, thoughtful, and likeable. If he starts to gain any momentum, watch his critics say his even-tempered demeanor makes it look as though he lacks passion for anything.

Timmy: will congress cut off funding for the war.

Schumer: the sense of the senate resolution is only our first step...Schumer doesn't think the resolution will embolden the enemy (you know he can't believe that). We will not be intimidated. (So very brave, Chuckie).

Timmy: Why not cut off the funding (he so wants this).

Schumer points out that it would be a conflagration, but seems to believe that doing it in less than a week or two won't get you the same result.

He wants any new troops to be voted on by congress. That will be the second step. He is promising to force a cut and run.

The vaulting ambition of America's Lady Macbeth. Hillary Clinton’s shameless political reconstructive surgery.

Must Read masterpiece by British journalist Gerard Baker (Comments interesting as well).

any comments on a Jeb ticket?

Yeh. No more Bush nor Clinton presidents. Enough with the family dynasties in politics. Get some new blood in the White House. Out of 200 million adults, surely we can find others to serve.

If Hillary does win, we will have had a quarter-century of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton presidency, and none of them have been that stellar.

[You asked. LOL]

You know what infuriates me about this? I watched the media show on Fox yesterday and they ALL agreed that Hillary was using her website and these staged events to get free media coverage. Yet the media (because of their bias) continues to cover them and pretends they are news...while they WON'T cover many administration events because they consider them "government propoganda."

We are going to see nothing but this type of stuff from her; no real questions, no dealing with opposition crows, nothing but plastic appearances with pre-selected crowds and fake questions.

I will bet you she makes NO appearances where she has contact with the general public.

I think this "resolution" that Vitter mentions McCain is working on is a way to give us the time we need to get Iraq under control. McCain will also want to do some damage to Bush, but he had best be very careful because there are life and death issues.

At this point Conservatives need to band together quickly around a candidate before McCain and Giuliani take up all the coverage and out of all the candidates....

You just posed the question of the day. Do we embrace a conservative candidate to the bitter end or embrace someone who is not so conservative yet seems to have polling data that beats hillary in a gen. election? Still not quite ceratain on that one myself.

It's the question of the day and I have yet to hear a really good answer. I keep looking for a Ronald Reagan II but can't find one.

(is Rudy a morphed RR II for the 2,000's?)

McCain was in Davos yesterday at the Economic Forum I saw him coming out a building in one news clip next to Tony Blair. The thought of left and right came to mind LOL.

From what Chuckie said, it sounds like cutting off funding is in the works....I hope my son has enough ammo until he can get the hell out of there(s)
