I've been mulling over an NBC Nightly News report from Iraq last Friday in which a number of soldiers expressed frustration with opposition to war in the United States.
I'm sure the soldiers were expressing a majority opinion common amongst the ranks - that's why it is news - and I'm also sure no one in the military leadership or the administration put the soldiers up to expressing their views, nor steered NBC reporter Richard Engel to the story.
I'm all for everyone expressing their opinion, even those who wear the uniform of the United States Army. But I also hope that military commanders took the soldiers aside after the story and explained to them why it wasn't for them to disapprove of the American people.
Friday's NBC Nightly News included a story from my colleague and friend Richard Engel, who was embedded with an active duty Army infantry battalion from Fort Lewis, Washington.

PING!
I believe there are already several threads regarding Arkin's original screed and the two follow-ups.
O'Reilly just bashed the hell out of this guy...it was good.
They shouldn't be putting soldiers who are risking their lives in front of cameras anyway.. it just gets them mixed up in politics, and then the "other side" wants "equal protection" (e.g. Waktada). Their place is to do their duty and follow orders.
"I believe there are already several threads regarding Arkin's original screed and the two follow-ups."
and this is another one!
if you have a problem with it, take it up with the management!
I searched the title and nothing came up.

Aw, just the normal anti-American left bashing folks they know hate their socialist guts -- our military!!!
Go military!!!
MSM = socialist sock puppets.
I have never been one to "call" an a multiple post. I just think when sewage like this shows up it's distinctive odor generates strong negative response.
I tend to giving no exposure to the enemy at all, but understand those who say "know the enemy".
I just don't want to know them that well. Once was more than enough. No disrespect for what I am sure were your best efforts.
Oh darn, I missed it - I'll try to catch the re-run.
Nobody can bash like O'Reilly!!
Either BAN the Media Entirely or Make them follow the same Uniform and Discipline rules that their Great Grandfather's had to during WWII. As for the troops; they need to be told that the media is there only to cover crap stories and bloody/horrendous stories designed to hurt them.
