At Number One I would have to have Imhofe or Sessions. Honestly it's easier to rank them bottom-to-top rather than top-to-bottom. Eliminate the riff-raff - Kennedy, Kerry, Boxer, Feingold, Specter, Hagel, Byrd, Leahy, Dodd, Biden, The Beast etc - and you aren't left with many of 'distinction'.

(The best theory is not ipso facto a good theory.)
To: Michael_Michaelangelo
The majority of them are pretty "rank".
Why is Lieberman at the end with the Republicans? And this has him as a dim, I thought he was an Ind.
To: Michael_Michaelangelo
Based on those 4 criteria, there's not a one in the Senate who should anything but a zero. Corruption, ignorance, narcissism and deceit would be a more credible set of standards.
I am convinced this great country thrives despite its politicians. We could improve our lives by just randomly drafting citizens, with certain minimal standards, to hold this exalted spots.

Best Senators should be
1. Tom Coburn
2. Jim DeMint
3. John Kyl
Honorable mentions to John Cornyn, John Ensign, Burr (NC), and Vitter (LA)

Gee I voted for Pat Roberts and it dropped him one place in the rankings.

The worst has gotta be Murray.
