Abortion Business Owner Arrested in Florida Over Unlicensed Employees

Miramar, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The owner of an abortion business has been arrested on charges that unlicensed employees were working there. Belkis Gonzalez, who owns the A Gyn of Miramar abortion center was already under investigation in the case of a baby who was apparently born alive following a botched abortion at another center.

Gonzalez was jailed on two felony counts related to abortions at the facility, also known as the Miramar Women's Center.

The pro-life group Operation Rescue made news of the arrest known in a statement provided to LifeNews.com.

It said Bill Robertson, an information officer in the Miramar police department, told it that Gonzalez was taken into custody over the weekend and later released on $1,000 bond.

Gonzalez' partner, Siomara Senesis, was also apparently arrested and later released. Gonzalez and Senises are business partners who have operated a number of abortion clinics in the Broward County area.

Operation Rescue said the arrests were the result of an investigation that began in November 2004 that has resulted in eight arrests thus far.

The group provided documents showing that Kieron Nisbet, who had a limited medical license to only practice in a hospital, and Robelto Osborne, who had his license revoked by the state, were doing the abortions at the center.

Nisbet fled the country and Osbourne turned himself in and was sentenced on his charges.

Two other unlicensed employees of the abortion facility, Rojas and Joselin Collado, were later charged as well.

Gonzalez’s arrest report details how these women knowingly allowed two men to conduct abortions on women when neither of them had medical licenses.

They also instructed at least two other unlicensed employees to conduct duties that required licensed medical personnel, including operating ultrasound machines, dispensing medication, and even assisting in abortions with duties normally done by licensed physicians. Gonzalez and Senises also performed medical duties without proper licensing.

This is not the first time the pair has been in the news.

Last July, both were involved in a case where a baby was born alive at an abortion clinic in Hialeah.

The GYN Diagnostic Center in Hialeah closed for good last August. According to witnesses, an unnamed young woman went there for an abortion. Police say the 18 year-old returned the next day complaining of sever stomach pains.

Abortion facility staff told her the abortion practitioner was not available and that she would have to wait. After being taken to a waiting area, the woman allegedly gave birth to the baby that she thought had been aborted the day before.

Officials say an anonymous caller, who they believe is an employee at the abortion business, alerted them to the birth and the infanticide of the child afterwards. However, when police arrived at the abortion facility, the baby's body was missing.

They came back a second time and found the dead baby in a biohazard bag. Detectives say abortion facility staff likely moved the baby's body the first time to avoid detection

So women are STILL getting back alley (unlicensed) abortions.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Planned Parenthood will never speak ill of this.

I'm shocked!!

I thought legalizing abortion was supposed to provide top-notch "medical care" to women!

I thought competent, professional, caring "doctors" would ensure the safety of patients!

What is this? Infanticide and unqualified employees in the same clinic?

This just cannot be!

"...Gonzalez and Senises are business partners who have operated a number of abortion clinics in the Broward County area."

This all it means to these "people"; a business!

So much for safe, now it's just legal.

I don't think we'll ever get it off the streets, though, thanks to pro-choicers who insist on teaching unqualified people how to set up clinics and endanger the health of women.

"But if it's illegal, women will get it done in dangerous clinics! Nevermind the fact that we're the one promoting unlicensed people to perform illegal abortions and if we didn't do that there wouldn't be so many dangerous clinics in existance..."
