Public school lawyers say parents have no say if public schools teach homosexuality
World Net Daily ^ | Feb. 14, 2007

Lawyers representing a Massachusetts school district named as a defendant in a parent's civil rights complaint have said teachers at Estabrook Elementary School have a "legitimate state interest" in teaching the homosexual lifestyle, and parents have no input into those decisions....

...."The state must fight 'discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation' in ways that 'do not perpetuate stereotypes,'" the lawyers for the school district argued. They also explained to the judge that, in their opinion, parents have no right to control what ideas the school presents to elementary schoolchildren, and if parents disagree with that dictate, they can take their children elsewhere.

"Once I have elected to send my child to public school, my fundamental right does not allow me to direct what my child is exposed to in the public school," said the school's lawyer....

Excuse me?! What about a government by the people, of the people and for the people? If the schools use OUR money, we have a right to speak out about how OUR schools are run.

What a putz.

They have no say except to pull their kids from the school, protest, and repeatedly sue over the curriculum; which involves issues of religion and basic decency. What is it with people who think they have to make their homosexual lifestyle mainstream...because it will never be.

Elected? Last I heard it was compulsory. If you can't home school or send your kids to private school, you are forced to send them to public schools.

Think about this:

Right now, how many public school parents do you know who make any fuss at all about their kid being taught how to put a condom on while learning homosexuality is a valid lifestyle?

The socialists have become emboldened by the apathy of most parents.

They couldn't do this if parents said "enough's enough" and pulled their kids from the indoctrination daycare centers in droves.

Things are only going to get worse if large numbers of parents don't begin standing up for what's right.

Socialists train and recruit kids in public schools so that one day our Republic will be no more.

It's not far off, unless more parents wake up fast.

So, you have a "fundamental right", which I interpret to mean inherent and inalienable, which is not really absolute...? Excuse me, but what the ---?? Leave it to a lefty lawyer to come up with that contradiction.

I seem to recall hearing some time ago that Kalifornia started to harass the parents of homeschool kids by Demanding that the parents have a TEACHING DEGREE in order to 'qualify' to be able to teach their own kids!!

If Government Schools were overseen by an elected Board of Indoctrination, and it was watched over by a State Indoctrination Board, and All were under the Federal Department of Indoctrination; We'd have "truth in Government".

If "Teachers & Educators" had to run for those Seats, voters might ask better questions of the candidates.

They prohibit prayer (despite a consitutional guarantee of free exercise of religion) but they force the students to submit to indoctrination in homosexuality.

So why do so many Christian parents continue putting their kids in these indoctrination camps? Curious minds want to know. Are they stupid? Can someone explain to me why most of them do it?

Thanks for posting this. Unbelievable. We have been discussing inexpensive ways to fast track kids through high school to avoid the nonsense:

One of the reasons I have not started to home school is that I don't know just how NJ or my town will react. The second reason and (its not meant to sound lame) is that all last summer I tried to teach my daughter and she just doesn't seem to respond to me as well as she does to anyone else. I am very upset over this Garden State Equality Group and its director Steven Goldstein. I am tired of the gays pushing their agenda, their propaganda etc on our children. I liked it better when they minded their own business. If they want to be gay and live their lifestyle fine. But why do they feel the rest of us have no rights? Or that they have the right to teach our children about being gay? I don't feel my child needs to be taught about diverse lifestyles or about being gay in the lower grades. I feel its up to me, as the parent to teach my child about gays and in the time when I feel its right. These people need to stop pushing their BS on the rest of us.
