neoliberal urbanism

80-year-old cabaret law, which regulated all bars and restaurants where patrons danced. The law, was revived by the Giuliani administration to punish nightclubs and bars without a two-year cabaret license.

I don't like it, but I'll take him over Romney, if the choice came down to that.

That's a toughie. Here is what we know about Giuliani: Terrible on most everything. But, perhaps good on taxes and spending, which of course is what the GOP neglected the last 6 years. If he came out swinging hard to cut taxes and reduce spending, I could overlook all the other stuff. But, he won't.

Romney bad on everything, but there is a good chance that he was lying about it all to get elected in Mass. Some signs that beneath it all he really is a conservative. Of course, who wants to take that chance? Vote for Mitt, he's been lying all these years? Kind of a tough sell.

Giuliani has the best chance to beat any Dem candidate. The time to fight for your purist candidates is in the primaries, except this time, of course, because it is just too important this election to let the Dems win. If you don't support Giuliani now, you are a RINO.

Substitute W's name in there and look! What a fit!!
I don't turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the present occupant of the White House who is the biggest government expansionist in US history, a socialist liberal, and a pagan blasphemer to boot!
I'm voting for whoever has the best chance of beating Hillary Clinton, enough said.

A pragmatic realist who isn't lying about his positions and intentions to appease a small but vocal minority?

All-rrrrright!

Which vocal minority is that? The one that elected Reagan, the one that put the GOP in charge of the Congress in '94? Yeah, just that vocal minority that actually believes in the GOP platform.

"It is a source of never-ending irritation to liberals that Americans like to hear conservatives. Liberals are like the dog food company president who furiously demands to know why their dog food isn't selling. "We've got the snappiest jingles," he rails, "the best agronomists, the slickest advertising campaign, the best billboards, and the flashiest labels!
Why aren't people buying our dog food?"

Finally, an employee meekly explains: "The dogs don't like it."
`Slander', Ann Coulter, Chapt. 6, Samizdat Media, P. 91

Woof!

The NEW platform built on mostly nothing but hating gays and abortions or the OLD platform about limited federal government?

Because we are not operating under the same GOP platform as we did under Reagan. Bush made sure to change it when he got the nomination in 2000, and for the life of me I cannot find any mention of limiting the federal government. At least Bush isn't a hypocrit, I guess.
