Isn't it a little early?

Then again, I've seen "Cars". That's about it. So what do I know.
Oh wait, I think "Pirates of the Carribean" and "The Illusionist" are nominated for technical awards. WooHoo, go techies!

I like to think I see a number of movies each year - but I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't seen any of the films nominated for Best Picture.

I am planning on seeing "The Queen" though.

Ok, here are my preferences, and I don't claim to have seen all of these:

While everything I've heard says Whitaker is excellent, I hope Peter O'Toole wins for best actor.

"Babel" was horrible. I hope it doesn't win anything.

Scorcese is due.

Eddie Murphy, from what I've heard, is fantastic. It's too bad he got detoured into b-grade Disney movies.

Wahlberg was excellent, but I hope it is Murphy.

United 93 was awesome .. I hope the director gets this award. He deserves it, but I'm not holding my breath in Hollyweird.

Dreamgirls was OK ... Eddie Murphy was outstanding.

The snow is coming down in bushels in the Windy City.

Last movie I saw:

Prairie Home Companion -- with Meryl Streep, among others.

It was most excellent.

Why watch a bunch of drugged out, over hyped losers that hate and loath the very nation that has made them so successful?

These liberal bastards spit on our President and America's best (our troops) in a period of time where our very Nation's survival is in question. Oh I know they say they "support the troops, and just not the mission". That is like saying you support a football team, but you do not want them to win the game. Therefore, it is impossible to support the troops, and not the mission.

Think about who you support with your time and dollars.

Hi Guennie.. I KNEW You would be here.. and I loved the Queen.
Saw it three times at theater. 2nd time as between my poor hearing & the accent, I missed MUCH of the dialog. Third time for the beauty of it.

I thought this was a very good year. A lot of wonderful films.

I agree with all you wrote except I did like Babel. Peter o Toole is surely the nostalgic candidate,

Whitaker was outstanding in Last King of Scotland.

Eddie Murphy did so well in Dreamgirls
