Casa of Maryland & the Catholic Church
http://www.mdcathcon.org/link_contents.htm ^ | February 26, 2007 | Trainer

Did you know that Casa of Maryland, one of the groups that supports illegal immigration and has huge backing of Governor O'Malley, has received money from the Archdiocese of Washington DC as part of the Campaign for Human Development?

But did you also know that but is also linked to the Maryland Catholic Conference?

Did you know that the Maryland Catholic Conference is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington, the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Archdiocese of Wilmington?

If you are Catholic in one of these Archdiocese, then take a moment to write to your Bishop and voice your concerns.

Take a moment to write to the Maryland Catholic Conference. The executive director is Richard J. Dowling, Esq. (rjd@mdcathcon.org).

This year, I made no donation was made to the Campaign for Human Development and to the Cardinal's Appeal. In both instances, a letter was sent indicating my reasons. An email was also written to the Maryland Catholic Conference questioning their judgement.

Let them hear from you. As always, no profanity, threats of violence, etc.

I voice my concerns by not going to mass.

I do the same. But soon we will be joined on this thread by the orthodox who say the Church can do no wrong.

I need a drink.

LOLs !
but--there are many that are anti-illegal and outspoken about the "Church's" involvement here
and will not let them stop us from going to Mass, and educating others as to exactly where their donations are going when they have these collections.
don't let this seperate you from Mass attendance.

question i would like to ask the author of the article is did they ever get a response to their letters ?
i never did.

And in so doing commit, as described by St. Francis de Sales, spiritual suicide.

""While those who give scandal are guilty of the spiritual equivalent of murder, those who take scandal-who allow scandals to destroy their faith-are guilty of spiritual suicide."

A better tactic and one that will help keep you in a state of grace is to return to the Mass and the sacraments and place an envelope in the collection every Sunday with the following message:

"No doctrine, no dollars"

"2241 The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.

Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens."(emphasis added)

That is a great idea! Can you offer any other information for fighting pro-illegal immigration forces in the Catholic Church which still emphecize the Christian need to aid them?

I did get a response from the Campaign for Human Development (Archdiocese of DC) about 3 weeks later. Basically, they said yes, we know that they deal with illegals but Casa helps others.

They refused to state that they would not support CASA.

I go to Mass and will donate to the local parish because they have to heat the building, put lights on, etc. But any of the special collections...forget it.

Well, that is not really what I meant.

That is important, but I think we need to attack them in the intellectual & spiritual arenas as well with cogent arguments.

The People's Republic strikes again.

I really can't stand the failed mayor (now our guvnah) of an eastern seaboard city (Baltimordor). How long do we have to endure this?

How long do we have to endure this?

For at least four more years. Hide your semi-autos.

I also wrote a letter this year explaining that I would no longer contribute to the Campaign until they stop aiding illegals in our country. I got a lame letter in response.

Thanks for the flag, FRiend.

I have already voiced my disapproval, but I don't have much hope for any changes.

Love the tagline, BTW.
