Maybe the weapons were valued too highly to be interred.

An amazing find! Would love to read more about the specifics. For thousands of years, man led a virtually static existence, absorbing changes very slowly and over long periods of time. But modern man has been riding the snowball of change down hill at increasing speed. What that means remains to be seen.
