You're right. But, personally, even as an adult I would have a real hard time with my dad and stepmom if my dad cheated on my mom with her. I absolutely cannot stand cheating. You're not happy, get a divorce, the family will survive. Outwardly cheating and then announcing the divorce at a press conference is another matter. Can't say I blame the kids. Even before the presidential run I thought it was a totally classless act.

My father cheated on my mother, and like you I agree people like that should just divorce, it's less of an embarrassment and demeaning act then cheating on ones spouse and parent of your children. It was 100% classless.

That said, I would not vote Rudy nor my father for any awards in that department, however I don't see how those actions would affect my fathers ability to run a business or Rudy's to govern the Nation.

I wouldn't sweat it. Odds are the kid will end up with a step-mom his Dad didn't cheat on his mother with.

I understand, but life is not perfect and a lot of things go on behind the scenes that could change our perspective if we knew the entire story. If I recall correctly, for example, Hanover and Giuliani, effectively seperated several years before Judith Nathan came on the scene even though they both officially lived in the Mayor's Mansion. I suspect they pretended to stay together because of politics, careers, and most importantly, for the children, even though the marriage was all but over. My perspective of Donna Hanover at the time was less than flattering, and that her role as First Lady was secondary to her own career goals. For all we know, she was a bitch on wheels, who never had time for her husband, emotionally or physically. And while I agree that he should have waited until after they divorced to find someone else, I suspect that they intended to pretend to stay together -- for the children -- when Rudy and Judy fell in love.

His mother was the city tramp too.

I have more of a problem with a person who sleeps with enough people to fill a baseball teams entire system than someone who has an affair with 1 person.

Ms. Hanover was no angel.

I have a real problem with any woman who cheats with a married man. That does not let the man off the hook by any means but being a woman I expect better of another woman. I suppose I am showing my age,but I believe faithfulness in marriage is a blessing of God. But I did not grow up in a lovely family, and my dad probably cheated all over the city with many women, as he was a police officer and liked to show off his badge! Just the other day I was told of a relative of mine who is messing around with a married man and it made me sick and ashamed of her. And she was just recently baptized Catholic not even a year ago. I have tried to be a good friend and family member to her but she has serious issues and family and friends told me to, shake the dust from my feet! I pray for her but I am also afraid something bad is going to happen to her.
