Be forced to resign because of a small blood clot that didn't even keep him in the hospital overnight? ROTFLMAO! Is this a joke?

The clot is just the excuse being used this time around in a worn out soap opera the media has played several times a year since 2001. Every single time something happens to Dick Cheney, the media tries to badger him into resigning with a flood of stories like this one.

This is only the start. By Friday, every story in every media outlet in the world will be either the latest "speculation" that Cheney is leaving, an outright demand that he resign, or an outright demand that Bush "fire" him, with an exhortation to the democrats to start impeachment if none of the above happens.

But he's not going anywhere. He's still in office despite the best efforts of the neo-Communists and swishy little fags in the media to eject him from it.

Please go back and read what I wrote. Not what you think I wrote. I just said that the 25th amendment makes the government more vulnerable because it requires both houses of congress to replace a VP.

As far as the political environment, people are so polarized that you will probably never see a landslide presidential election again. True red states will always vote for the republican, true blue states will always vote for the dem, and the others will vote somewhere in the middle.

Dick Cheney has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg, leading to speculation he will be forced to resign as U.S. Vice-President.

Pelosi, Hillary and everyone else better pray that Cheney doesn't resign considering that the VP selected will have the incumbent's advantages in the 2008 race.

As Cheney is not running for president, replacing him with someone who will run for president is an interesting idea.

It *would* have been interesting in the first term or even after the 2004 elections (with a decent interval of course) or so I thought. But now it's too late. And, who knows, maybe it's for the best. Not being a sitting vice president does have some advantages. But I don't see any advantages for Bush's policies, esp. on Iraq.

If GW really wanted to tear up the race for next year...when Cheney says he has to retire...then bring in Jeb Bush. That would reset the entire election scheme of both parties. I don't think Jeb would refuse the matter. And correct if I am wrong...but we have never had two brothers running prez and vice-perz at the same time? I can just see the look on Hillary and McCain's faces...when this would be announced.

But seriously...in a real world...I'm guessing he'd invite Fred Thompson over. Fred knows the senate and has alot of face time with the media. Fred also is a southerner who connects to people.

I knew what you meant the first time I read your post. Rereading it didn't change anything at all. Perhaps if you rewrote it, AFTER you go learn some history and logic, it might not get people jumping all over you.

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO PLACE ANY FAMILY MEMBER IN A PRESIDENT'S CABINET. I suspect that it is also against the law to make one's broth the VEEP, when your Veep has to be replaced.

And President Bush ONLY puts people he knows very well and knows that they're loyal in close proximity. There is absolutely NO evidence, whatsoever, that Thompson fits that bill.

Come into reality and stop day dreaming about factual things, that it is obvious you have no knowledge about.

Are you sure about this? I have never heard of such a law...it must have been passed after 1960 as Bobby Kennedy was his brother's AG which is a cabinet position.

Since you do not know how to do links or cut and paste, give me a hint where and how to research this on the net...Thanks....

Let me tell you something, Hell will be asking for maintenance to turn down the air conditioners before Nancy Pelosi becomes Vice President.

IF Cheney were to step down (do NOT bet any more than pocket change on THAT happening!), the President makes his selection for a replacement VP (and it can be anyone), and the SENATE confirms that choice.

Being that the Senate is such a friendly old boys club, that means that a new VP selected from inside the 'club' would have a better chance of being confirmed than someone from outside.

If such a scenario came to pass, I would positively LOVE to see the President nominate former Senator ZELL MILLER as his new VP.

Watch those 'Rats squirm.

I am not only "sure", I am POSITIVE!

The anti-nepatism law was passed BECAUSE JFK had brother Bobby in his cabinet.

I'm sure that some with more HTML skills than I have, will be posting about this soon, to this thread.

I stand corrected, I thought it was just the Senate that confirmed VP replacements.

*Great*. :(

Your keyboard is apparently suffering from an intermittent caps lock issue. I bet it's a driver problem.
