Gingrich Tells Dobson He's 'Sought God's Forgiveness'
Focus on the Family ^ | 03/07/07

Posted on 03/07/2007 2:53:35 PM PST by presidio9

Former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich tells Focus on the Family Chairman James C. Dobson, Ph.D., he has "gotten on my knees and sought God's forgiveness" for his personal moral failings in a two-part installment of Dobson's international radio program airing Thursday and Friday.

Gingrich also discusses his new book, "Rediscovering God in America," and the rising threat of radical Islam to the West.

On day two of the program, Dobson compares the attitudes of today's Muslim radicals to the actions of the Nazis in the 1930s -- a hatred of Jews and a desire for hegemony and domination.

"It bothers me," Dobson says, "that many of our leaders don't seem to get that -- Republicans and Democrats."

Gingrich agrees, noting that "there are 15- to 25-year-old men who are willing to die as long as they kill you."

"It's a warrior culture," he adds, "that has been true historically for 6,000 or 7,000 years."

The program will be available online Thursday and Friday. Visit the following link to listen: http://listen.family.org/daily/.

I hope he does. There is no serious candidate in the race that I would consider voting for (in a primary).

Yup. Sounds like it. And I'm sure he'll feel at peace -- at least until the next more-delectable-than-his-current-wife young woman crosses his path.

Agree. Wish he'd never left Congress. It's been downhill for the GOP since he blinked.

Newt just happens to be the only true conservative who is a potential candidate. Hopefully he will become a candidate.

I'd rather he tell Dobson to stick it where the sun don't shine.

It's none of Dobson's business whether Newt (or anyone) has sought forgiveness from the Lord.

If that's your criterion for presidency, we ought to just narrow the field down to Al Gore and John Edwards right now.

I'm not sure if Gingrich can recover from his scandels to be elected president, but after seeing him many times he would be a great advisor of cabinent member.

I like Newt but c'mon - with a 50/50 red/blue nation does anyone honestly think he's electable? If he's the nominee it'll probably guarantee a 5% shift to the Dems. With his brains and policy background he'd be a great VP.

Have wives number one and two joined God in forgiving him?

If I could reach out and appoint a candidate, it would be Rick Santorum, or Fred Thompson. Since they are both not running, if we don't get serious about Newt around here in a hurry, we are going to wind up with Giuliani or McCain.

Oh don't get your panties in a bunch. Newt chose to go onto Dobson's program, which is a Christian, not political program.
