Giuliani Leads Three Democrats in Florida

Republican Rudy Giuliani is the early frontrunner in Florida, according to a poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 47 per cent of respondents in the Sunshine State would support the former New York City mayor in the 2008 United States presidential election, while 42 per cent would vote for Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Giuliani also holds a 12-point lead over Illinois senator Barack Obama, and an eight-point edge over former North Carolina senator John Edwards.

The three Democratic presidential hopefuls hold the upper hand in contests against former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

You're cherry picking your quotes in regards to Mr. Thompson.

1) If he does decide to run, and more indicators say he's truly considering running regardless of his relationship with McCain, it will strike fear in the hearts of those on the left, specifically because the independents will likely gravitate towards voting for him. We'll have to wait and see what he has to say about the matter.

2) Mr. Thompson will be able to beat any dem candidate.

3) Mr. Thompson will get the Republican nomination if he decides to run, IMO.

4) Mr. Thompson is the most conservative choice that has a solid chance to win the presidency no matter who the left fields, IMO.

5) The MSM is pushing for Rudy McRomney as the front runners for obvious reasons, and that is the left believes none can beat their nominee in the election and if any of the above still pull out a win it still amounts to a 'loss' for conservatives, IMO.

If Mr. Thompson sees that McCain is unlikely to win the nomination, I believe he will throw his hat in the ring. He would be the best choice, IMO, and a Thompson/Hunter ticket would have the best odds in 08 and 12.

Sorry, strike three. Ideology has it's place but uncompromising ideology is fanatical, imho. I honestly believe, no insult intended, that the "two parties are no different" argument is a cop-out used in an attempt to justify a third party vote.

The Republican and Democrat Parties are poles apart as even a cursory examination of each party will prove.

There may be similarities in certain areas, example illegal immigration, however, there are more disagreements than agreements. A listen to Harry "The Body" Reid, Bela Pelosi or Lardass Murtha for two minutes, proves the point. These are the people that speak for the "Democratics".

Employing a phrase such as "socialists like Rudy", is pure sophistry. It is patently not a credible statement and really does interfere with honest discourse.

I voted for Fred Thompson twice, and two things disappointed me: (1) he carried water in the Senate for the Trial Lawyers, opposing every effort to reign them in, and (2) he seemed bored by the job. I would vote for him for President against any Dim candidate, but he is not my first choice. Give me Newt instead.

If Rudy is the Prez nominee, I'd like to see Condi Rice as his Veep nominee. That would pound a wooden stake through the heart of the Democrats. But I expect his choice will be a much more traditional one, i.e., another elected politician of some heft and achievement.

FACT: Thompson supported McCain against Bush.

Mr. Thompson is free to support anyone he wants or wanted at the time, but that does not necessarily mean it was poor judgment as much as it displays that Mr. Thompson is a friend of McCain.

Compare the voting record of Mr. Thompson versus Rudy's stance on issues and Mr. Thompson is a hands down preferable conservative candidate.

That's not an unsupported assertion, but a verified fact.
