AUSTIN, Texas (AP)-As documentary filmmakers, Debbie Melnyk and Rick Caine looked up to Michael Moore.

Then they tried to do a documentary of their own about him-and ran into the same sort of resistance Moore himself famously faces in his own films.

It's always nice to see Fathead get a taste of his own medicine.

His tactics are the high art of propaganda, and they've been practiced since forever. They are de rigeur on Madison Avenue and figure in the ads we watch. Of course that kind of behavior programming has nothing to do with the truth, but when did the truth truly matter in politics?

Unlike Moore... THESE two are real documentary filmmakers. They sought the truth when making their film. Moore is a propagandist. He has never made a film without a pre-conceived conclusion, and thus filmed footage and edited it specifically to prove that conclusion regardless of reality or even other POVs.

Hats off to these two who most likely went in expecting to make a film praising Moore, but had the intellectual honesty to expose the hypocrite for what he is.

"But after four months of unsuccessfully trying to sit down with Moore for an on-camera interview, they realized they needed to approach the subject from a different angle. They began looking at the process Moore employs in his films, and the deeper they dug, the more they began to question him."

I find it interesting that they didn't really begin to investigate Moore at all until he ducked their interviews.

If he'd simply sat down with them, the resulting "documentary" (mockumentary?) would have been the usual worshipful drivel we've come to expect from the Left.

"We're a bit disappointed and disillusioned with Michael," Melnyk said, "but we are still very grateful to him for putting documentaries out there in a major way that people can go to a DVD store and they're right up there alongside dramatic features."

They find out that Moore is a Fraud .. yet still praise his movies ??

These people were born stupid

Isn't that like praising Leni Riefenstahl for making very well-done movies with a different take on German history? ("Triumph of the Will", 1936)

Fascinating. The filmmakers discover that Moore's first movie (the one that made him famous) was a documented fraud, yet they still admire him because they like his message and he has paved the way for others to do the same. What intellectual vacancy.
