Gonzales apologized to all 93 U.S. attorneys in a conference call Friday as morale in U.S. attorneys' offices across the country deteriorated, McClatchy Newspapers reported. Gonzales has been at the center of a controversy over the way in which eight U.S. attorneys were fired in recent months

Congressional Democrats were angry Friday when the White House put off delivering new documents to be used in a congressional investigation into whether the Bush administration has politicized the Department of Justice. I'm sure that after the apologies for "holding" these documents are over with, we will find out the white house, instead of redacting, High lighted the really damaging parts .
Just to make it easier for the dims and the media to exploit.

To answer your question, nary a republican backbone can I find in the GOP. Well, there's Dick Cheney.
My husband and I mused "what if?" What if President Bush resigned, Cheney became president, who would he name as a worthy Vice President? Ann Coulter is the only backboned with balls choice we could come up with.

If we criticize, we should be able to offer suggestions.
"Grow a spine" is a suggestion. It isn't being heard and hasn't been heard for several years now.
Continued BO&TI seems to be the favored position.

What a weenie......and why didn't the President step forward to support the decision?
I know....the President was busy licking Latin boots!

Although I LOATHE Guiliani's social positions, I'm almost to the point of accepting him, simply because he seems like the only candidate on the GOP side who appears to have a backbone, and won't keep getting rolled, again and again and again. I'm just so sick of this!!!

I know....the President was busy licking Latin boots! I still think initially the president and the white house loved this scandal...it helped to keep his "Promises to Latin America" tour off the top of the front page.

Why is it that it seems the only person with any balls in this administration is Dick Cheney?

I'm beginning to agree with Krauthammer that Gonzalez should go. Not because anything done was illegal or wrong, but due to abundant incompetance in handling this situation.
More of the New Tone, I guess. Makes me want to hurl.

The position of APPOINTMENT to US Attorney is both a political appointment CONSTITUTIONALLY made by the EXECUTIVE BRANCH and secondly it is a TERM APPOINTMENT which FINISHES when the NEXT ADMINISTRATION comes into office.

It appears bush and company are purposely trying to look so bad and weak that any 'rat will be elected in 08. Sad and disappointing.
Similar to what happened here in ohio with the RINO gov Taft and fellow RINO senators dewhine and voinavich.

I concur. Gonzales should go on general principle. To cave and apologize won't stop the RATS, if anything, it will embolden them....
