Oh really, thanks for the morality lesson. Now, how is America going to do with the Greater of Two Evils? And what about giving me your tax cut, after all, it will be gone if Hilllory wins. Oh, that silly War, Hillorat will bring it here so we can all see it up close.

Some times we gotta grow up a bit. We aren`t going to get the perfect candidate, (ask away, I ain`t running). Sometimes, we might even have to accept the lessor of two evils. Why, cause the alternative is just to horrible. Name the issue, bad things are more likely to happen with MS. Bubba as President then under any Rino, especially with the WAR. That`s not a very good gamble.

>The liberal Republicans are driving conservative Republicans away from Republicans (sic) - GOP<

Without the conservatives in the GOP, there are no longer two parties.

For instance Che Guevara was a freaking mass murderer and is still thought of as Jesus with a beret.

By the Left. The different is Ghandi is revered by the teeming millions of all political hues.

Ghandi was a friend to all humanity, and a pig to those he personally knew, family included.

There you folks go off again!!!!You are making the same mistake that the Gandhi-philiacs do.You are trying to look at Gandhi merely as a yuppy do-gooder idealist & point.

Most pragmatic students of Indian history will tell you that Gandhi was a shrewd politician who knew could gauge the pulse of the people & act thereupon. He was dead against the hindu caste system, but knew that Indian society was too entrenched for the kind of modern day affirmative action programmes to be successful.Rather he tried to personally raise the self esteem of the lower castes within the wider ambit of the the freedom struggle.Gandhi pushed for unity & coexistence towards Muslims & the leaders of the Muslim League, but he never firmly believed that India & modern dayPakistan would stay united-they would have been in a perpetual state of civil war then.India at it's birth witnessed as much bloodshed as liberated Iraq is witnessing now-but India's muslims are relatively far better off than their Paki or Bangladeshi cousins.

About the wonderful logic of The Nazis having come in place of the Brits????Well why not spare a moment's thought to flip the coin over & understand the consequences of doing away with a leader of Gandhi's status. The colonialists would have been squashed to pulp like an elephant sitting on a mouse.IOW,the British or anyother empire would have been extinct.Gandhi knew just how fragile the patience of the Indian people was towards the Brits & channelised it in the best way possible. This is the Gandhi that no one knows or talks about.

Bite me. I won't vote for some fool simply because he has an "R" next to his name.

You can call it "voting for Hillorat" all you want. Such tactics may work on simpletons, but it will not sway my vote. Either a candidate is worthy, or they are not. Rudy (right of NYC, but left of USA), McCain (with no moral compass), and Romney (unelectable to the undecideds by his name, his "strange" faith, and his flip-flopping political stances) are not worthy of my vote, period.

Whine like a little child all you want. It won't matter. I'm beyond emotional manipulation.

(well... in the political sphere, anyway)

Wow, do I feel bad. Whining like a little child, I was trying to use emotional manipulation on simpletons in order to elect anybody but Hillorat. Shame on me! I should have realized that Hillorat becoming POTUS won`t effect folks with giant intellects, such as yourself. The "bite me" comment should have tipped me off.

& how much did the Ghadar movement contribute to India's independence??While a watershed in India's history,it's importance was localised & limited to the early decades of the 20th century. The genesis of the freedom movement as a whole could go back as far as the war of independence of 1857 or as more widely accepted today, the 1905 agitation against partition of Bengal by Curzon, which united Indians for the first time with the very idea of a united country.

As for Atlee's opinion, wasn't he the gentleman who presided over the most disastrous transfers of power under the British empire-India & Israel????Wouldn't give too much importance to someone who was trying his best to cut & run from India in order to prevent Britain from bleeding further.

"...what are you talking about?"

sukhoi-30mki did not address my post(70) specifically. I believe he was addresses FReepers who posted comments that failed, in his opinion, to give enough credit to Gandhi's' impact.

I can appreciate sukhoi-30mki in wanting there to be a fair assessment of India's history during that period, but I do not support the popular view of Gandhi's influence in India's independence.
