It looks like a three way dog fight is emerging between Rudy, McCain, and Romney. As a Romney fan it looks like the advertising in selected states like NH an MI are working.

I don't mind anyone bringing up any issues, and especially don't care when people pump up their candidate or showcase their strong record on whatever issues.

I simply said that it feels to me that in this election cycle, more than any previously things are different. Candidates are eager to use the 'new media' and netroots and places like FR to their advantage, and things are starting to stink around here.

Not from any specific campaign (though the hunter people seem more overtly aggressive than others), but its all guessing, I certainly don't have hard proof. Plus I also know for a fact that libs are on here posting into the same chaotic mess to 'stir the pot'.

And again, its not about working your guy or his strenghts... its the tearing down (how many "rudy again, smoke nazi" posts will pissant post in a day?), the endless youtube of his SNL skits or photos in drag, the feeding of the "my way or highway" 3rd party guys that WILL lead to a Perot situation and us loosing... no doubt.

The thought of KOS kids teaming up with Freepers to take out Rudy, even if he happend to get the primary nod (and if they don't know they are working toegher) makes me queasy.

And even then... if its just by passionate people... then I can't really be upset about that. But when it gets into FR being part of the campaign machine, or at least I think it may be... thats just too far. I don't like being played.

At least thats what I was wondering... so I posted a vanity asking how others felt or if everyone though I was over reacting (surely "those people" can just be really really dedicated supporters acting on their own)... just seems to me a few are a little extra motivated than others.

Anyway, more than anything, the fact that the vanity was removed within 30 seconds of being posted has me more concerned than any other doubts or worries I had before.

Michigan is a lib state. We will not win it. If McCain is the best they can do, what does that tell you?

Yeah right... I said I thought people were being paid to post on Freerepublic.

Asked how others felt about it or if they thought I was over-reacting.

If it was such a "crazy idea" then why not let it up and let everyone come see the crazy monkey in his cage and point out how stupid and absurd such an insane notion was.

Why must it be pulled down within 30 seconds... if it was so crazy? Especially considering it was clearly labeled VANITY in the post title and in the vanity category

Puhhlease.

If thats the case, then place is getting worse than digg with the burying.

I don't mind the heated discussions. There's a lot of pros and cons with each candidate to weigh out and the only place I find that kind of information are on these threads. Sure beats the heck out of repeated soundbites we get otherwise.

I can say with certainty, however, that if McCain is our candidate, the GOP can kiss my vote goodbye. There is absolutely no way I'll vote for him.

Perhaps if you had adduced some evidence,

and your little rant did not read like a barking moonbattery, it would still be there.

If I'm reading your post correctly, you are supporting Rudy Guiliani. Take heart in the knowledge that all the anti-Rudy SPAM is having the opposite effect. According to the two keepers of the Rudy ping lists, the list is growing.

I must admit, if McStain gets the nod, I will need a drink before I head to the polls but he'll get my vote.

I just think back to last november and how "we" wanted to "teach the republicans a lesson", and what that lost us (the house, the senate, rumsfeld, bolton) and what it got us (poloci, murtha, reid, schumer), and I remember that it did nothing to advance conservatism.

I understand some others don't / won't feel that way, but I'm going to do my best that they at least remember November 2006.

Romney is NOT a fraud. I suggest you read up on him.

The more I read, the more ways I realize he's a total fraud.

When I go over Romney's LONG list of flip flops and pandering to this group or that I keep forgetting about him formerly bashing the NRA and then joining as a life member. It's just so hard to keep track of all of them.

How fake can a guy get? The limits are being tested!

I have no problem with posting the negatives about candidates based on the issues. I don't think FR was intended to just be a place to advertise your chosen candidate without getting the conservative point of view in reply to them.

Rudy gets lots of heat here because he is a flaming liberal on the issues and this is a conservative news forum.

I personally don't want Rudy within 500 yards of the Republican platform. I hope he drops out long before the primaries or switches to the RAT party. Thats where he belongs.

I am NOT supporting Rudy... I'd accept him, and I'll defend him against the personal attacks and endless drag photos around here.

I just don't want ANY of the candidates to become "unacceptable in the general election" versus the democrat.

Unless Joe Lieberman gets their nod (and even then its a stretch), we are far better with ANY of our guys, and that is my biggest concern.

I understand how it appears I am for Rudy, but its only because he is the one everyone is attacking since hes in the lead, but I'd do the same for any of the Candidates (though not as often for McStain, I always do say he should get your vote if he gets the nod)

Pardon me, I didn't know VANITY posts (clearly labeled and placed) had to be triple sourced.

So saying I didn't have proof and asking in the post how others felt and if I was over-reacting was not enough.... not enough to even close it... it has to be REMOVED within 30 seconds.

Sure...

Actually, I was leaning towards Rudy...now interested in Thompson if he gets in. He has stated now that McCain-Feingold has not worked so that helps. He says there needs to be full disclosure...we'll see what happens. It's pretty early for all this but it's impossible to resist reading everything about the candidates. McCain is the one I detest the most of all.

Yeah, you're right. There must have been another reason. You must have guessed the deep, dark, secret of this site, a secret that must never be uttered.

Tinfoil is obviously your default system.
