BRISTOL, Tenn. - Dale Earnhardt Jr. says there has been no movement on his contract negotiations with Dale Earnhardt Inc.

He wouldn't elaborate and indicated that his thoughts right now are turned to sister Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, who handles his business affairs and is in the hospital for undisclosed reasons.


"My sister is in the hospital right now so we're going to have to put everything on hold for a while," Earnhardt Jr. said Thursday night. "She's going to be in the hospital for a couple of days. We'll be watching that pretty closely. Everything in life is on hold until that gets better."

Earnhardt Jr. was talking after announcing a deal with Sharpie, which announced a new marker with his name on it.

Earnhardt Elledge is married to Jimmy Elledge, crew chief of the No. 41 Chip Ganassi Racing car driven by Reed Sorenson. Jimmy Elledge will not be at the track Friday but should return by Sunday to call the shots.
