Why is Iran announcing the release of the British soldiers ?
Why now ?
Last Sunday, Iran told the AEIA that it would not let the UN inspector see some parts of the iranian nuke programs. Yesterday, the AEIA claimed that Iran had multiplied its current capability by 3 since the hostage crisis began.
Iran tried to take US hostages on January 20, 2007 in Kerbala, Iraq. The mission failed, and the Revolution Guards slaughtered 5 GI'S.
Iran hoped to make pressure on America, and is still hoping that America won't bomb the country when Iran will expell the UN inspectors from the country.
The visit of the House speaker Pelosi to Syria, close ally to Iran, gave the mullahs the impression their strategy had worked.
That's why they will release the Britons hostages today.
The Axis of Evil thinks America is weak and not prepared to fight even if one her ally is in difficulty.
Because of Pelosi, Iran is more optimistic and is about to lauch a big - BIG - war this Summer, against Israel using Hezbollah and Syria and against the USA in Iraq by sending new iranian troops in Iraq.
Brothers, for Iranians, Pelosi's visit means America surrenders.
Do I have this right?
The Brits were unarmed and their rules of engagement wouldn’t have allowed them to defend themselves?
Oh, and they were not in Iranian waters anyway?
Our’s is used mostly to hang cloths on!
LOL. I could not have said it better.
As was mine, but I found it has an alternative use!
Perhaps the threat of all the world's treadmills hooked up to generators to power our TV sets gave Arabinutjob a reality check. As it is, technology is coming to make the Arab world high on oil revenues one huge reality check.
“I assume that the reason the Blair (and Bush) didn’t choose door number three is that they have other considerations right now”
What other considerations? The war in Iraq is nearly lost due to the Democrats. The general WOT is still in play and Iran is the biggest player in that war. They just challenged us and we came up small. Now, like I’ve said previously, if the UK/US retaliate after getting the 15 hostages back, they can redeem themselves. If they let the 5 Al Quds Iranian special ops guys go, our government are weak failures.
Iranians may be dumb, but they’re not stupid. They know what Pelosi’s doing, and they will not mistake her actions for the OFFICIAL American position. They’ll try to play the Dems against the Republicans, as they always have, and the media may even buy it, but when it comes down to it, the Iranians know what the policy of the US actually is.
Heh, a much more likely scenario.
Do you think the first visit to Syria from a top member of the US administration is not seen as a sign by Iranians ?
A sign of a change of strategy ?
Now Pelosi can claim that it was her superior international diplomacy that brought forth the release. It will help her build a power base for a run on the White House in 2012.
I meant the first visit since 2003.
“triumph of diplomacy.”
lol
It’s photo finish.
Frankly, I'm getting tired of the 'let's turn the whole Middle East into a sheet of glass' claptrap. We have the chance to turn some things around there, and as you said, being a bully about it with the entire populace doesn't help one bit. You have to be selective who you pin against the wall. There are a very few who actually have power in Iran, and we shouldn't punish regular people for the idiocy of the mullahs and folks like Mr. Iwannajihad.
Why do you put a space before question marks?
I agree completely.
Look at the TV they see, and you will understand that the iranian people are not the nice guys you think :
A bit far fetched, methinks...
