We need to pressure our Republican leaders to prosecute Ms. Polosi for violation of the Logan Act as per the WSJ article.
And we need to start a national movement and not let up under any conditions.
They would prosecute one of ours if the tables were turned.

As I heard on WMAL DC radio this morning, precedents do exist for House Speakers meddling overseas against Executive Branch policy. In the 1980s. Jim Wright tried to negotiate with Daniel Ortega despite Reagan's insistence that he not for fear of upsetting U.S. efforts to overthrow the Sandanistas. In the 1990s, New Gingrich addressed the Israeli Knesset against the wishes of the Clinton Administration, and actually had to publicly apologize to Slick for it. So, be careful in what you are asking for. Prosecuting Pelosi would be counterproductive to the GOP. She's has already revealed herself to be an idiot on the world stage, so let her continue to be the gift that keeps on giving.
When you opponent is busy looking foolish, don’t interrupt her.
Just looked up The Logan Act on Wikipekia. Pelosi was not authorized to undergo this task. Lets see if President Bush reminds her that she is not the President when she comes back from “vacation”!
It’s not going to happen. Look at our borders and tell me that Pelousy will face prosecution. Look at Sandy Berger and tell me than Pelousy will face prosecution.
The media criticism of Pelosi is a better result. Your idea would put Pelosi back in the victim category and garner sympathy.

I’m with you, prosecuting her even though it may be technically and legally correct to do so is too dangerous.
Look at the recent (2004?) governors race in WA. Even though the Republicans were technically on the right side when they claimed corruption had won the seat for the Dems, they eventually lost their case in court and came off looking like SoreLoserman Gore.
Dingbat Pelosi should be prosecuted.

There is a law. Dingbat Pelosi violated it. If the law is to mean anything, it has to be enforced.
Just because we let them get away with it in the past doesn’t mean we should still do it.
The WSJ mentions that she may in fact have violated the Logan Act, so lets put her to the test.
What do you think the chances are that we'll get a public apology from Pelosi? Probably about the same as getting a prosecutor to touch this case, but it's fun to dream...

Well, there are a number of different threads from the past couple of days talking about the Logan Act. Some knowledgeable folks have indicated that the Logan Act does not apply to members of Congress. Can anyone confirm?
