Yeah, well, when Mr. Hedges can show that Christian fundamentalists are blowing innocent people up because they wont convert to Christianity, I might take him seriously. Until then, hes just another anti-religious kook, as far as Im concerned. Eric Robert Rudolph.

I thought that You Tube did not tolerate “hate speech”. I guess for only the protected classes of thought that Googleheads agree with. Animal Farm BUMP.

Ford Motor funds the Homosexual Agenda. Somehow THAT “corporatism” eludes this bright and shining thinker.

“What really animates Hedges anger at religious conservatives, however, is their recent political power and success on the state level at banning same-sex marriagean issue that has been central to Hedges since his father made him start a gay-rights group at college”
Usually when I listen to someone who is this hateful towards people of faith, it doesn’t take long to get to the real root of their hatred - it’s usually driven by their own personal proclivities and sexual lifestyle

Gee, I guess I’m a boogyman now. Or am I a hobgoblin?
Funny, I don’t feel any different.
*yawn*
Whatever. The world is full of fools. It’s a blessing when they identify themselves for us, so that we can avoid them more easily.

Eric Robert RudolphHe wasn't trying to convert anyone, and from what I've read about him, he doesn't have the belief that he should kill anyone who isn't a Christian. He was just a kook, who THOUGHT he was pro-life. Any others like him targeted specific people, notably abortionists, they weren't on some global crusade.

What is a dominionist anyway? It’s not in my hyperdictionary:
“Meaning of DOMINIONIST
No matching definitions were found in Hyperdictionary.com.”

You’re right. It always comes down to sex, with the folks who are militantly anti-religious.

I can picture the liberals siding with the muslims, but I can’t picture the muslims siding with the liberals.

What is a dominionist anyway? Good question, especially since it's at the core of one of the thrusts of liberal assault on Christianity.
Dominionists want to essentially establish a theocratic US. There are very few people that actually fall into this category.
The twist the left is attempting to impose is to broaden the definition to anyone who informs their vote by their faith. That is the liberal lie portion of the thrust. It's really an effort to exclude or minimize Christians from voting (since evangelical vote played a large portion in Bush being elected).

"War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" was a good book. I bought it used and found it to seem pretty balanced over all.
But I can't say that this is suprising.
To: Antonello
Eric Rudolph was not killing someone because they would not convert to Christianity. But the key point is that one criminal is not equivalent to "Christian fundamentalists blowing up innocent people". On the other hand there are large numbers of muslims killing innocent people based on their idealogy.

Fascism (Nazism) is a reactionary political stance. It’s an extremist position to the right, just as socialism/communism is an extreme position to the left.
So please don’t go around mindlessly ranting about something when it is clear you know nothing about it.
To: keats5
some synonyms are: Theonomists and reconstructionists. Gary DeMar is a reconstructionist, as are many of the leaders of the Christian right. The “core” of the movement is post millennial, believing that there will be a complete collapse of the secular, godless humanistic society, which will prompt a revival, as the converted and biblically (biblical law based, especially) will be the healthy ones to preserve society. Kind of like the so called “dark ages” of medievalist , when the church was the only beacon of civilization in a society sunk into utter ignorance and barbarity.
Rushdoony and Greg Bahnsen and Gary North are/were all reconstructionists
