Duke Failed to See Gravity of Rape Case, Report Says
NEW YORK TIMES ^ | May 9, 2006 | KAREN W. ARENSON

Posted on 04/11/2007 5:55:05 PM PDT by hophead

Duke University officials, from the campus police to the highest administrative levels, failed to grasp the seriousness of an accusation that white lacrosse players raped a black woman at a party in March and did not respond quickly enough, said an outside report released yesterday. The report, by William G. Bowen, a former president of Princeton University, and Julius Chambers, a former director of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund Inc., cited "a gap in communications that is extraordinary," noting that the Duke police force had failed to alert administration officials to the racial component of the case.

I think every single one of those people ought to be named in a lawsuit. At the very least, I want to see them pay lawyers for the next year or so while it goes through a court of law.

The New York Times isn’t worth reading. Or responding to.

Didn’t see the gravity of it? They suspended the team and fired the coach. Now the three accused are found innocent. Fuck you, New York Times.

As someone mentioned on another thread on this subject, the fact that they bought the ad in a paper not affiliated with the university would seem to remove the university from liability in this particular instance. That means (hopefully) that if lawsuits are brought against each of the 'Group of 88' individually or collectively, they might have to pay for their own defense, as opposed to the university paying.

But wouldn't it be fun to watch the university defend the 88 against a lawsuit after having put the three accused out to dry?

The lefy wants to dictate to all. They smelled the blood in the water and dove in. They are all wet. The profs letter may have been the highwater mark for PC.

I’d like to see the Duke 88 take out a full page ad apologizing

No way! They are all liberals and firm believers in the existential truth of Fake but Accurate. It is Philosophically True even if false in fact. Actually they lose only because an incorrect interpretation of social relationships was successfully forced to prevail by so far unpurged reactionary elements.

Two more left wing liberals who should be added to the list of liberals taken to civil court for damages by the players/parents, coaches and others damaged by this PC racism.

“The decision by the university to readmit the students, especially just before a critical judicial decision on the case, is a clear use of corporate power, and a breach, I think, of ethical citizenship,” says Dr. Karla Holloway, the William R. Kenan Jr., Professor of English and Professor of Law at Duke. “I could no longer work in good faith with this breach of common trust.”

Karla Holloway is another black racist pimp posing as a professor. She should go to Iran to lead the Anti America female clowns.

He is right. It should have been better investigated.

LOL! I wonder just how deeply Dr. Chambers thinks the matter should be looked into now. I suspect he thinks it's time to just "put this all behind us and move along."

ring leaders of this liberal circle jerk are Pierce-Baker, Charlotte (Women’s Studies) and Rudy, Kathy (Women’s Studies)

And these people, even more than Nifong, are who I want to see named as defendents in a civil suit.
