Prayers up for the Buckley family. They have all done so much for the conservative movement, I can not imagine what our side of the aisle would have been like without them.

Surgery on someone who is 81 years old is never routine. The risks of complications is much greater.

The formal obituary speaks about a lengthy illness. This is part of the reason that WFB has retired from public appearances.

She should have gone to Norwalk Hospital or Westchester Medical. Much lower rates of post-operation infections.
To: Bob Leibowitz
Sincere and profound prayers for the whole Buckley family. She is with the Master of Creation.

Really. The incidence of infections, sometimes deadly, in American hospitals is rising and I would be interested if somone could explain why. It sounds like Mrs. Buckley died because she was in that hospital. I guess people just have to start insisting that the hospital staff wash their hands and done a mask when they enter your room.
