Yours is the same old liberal argument. We hear it every day from the same old liberal sources. You are defining yourself as a liberal. Doesn't change the fact that this country was founded on Judeo/Christian principles and our entire society is God-centered, and conservatism is about defending same.

No... I agree that the nation was founded on Judeo/Christian principles. Where we differ is what those principles are.

I suppose my interpretation could be considered "liberal" is the sense of classic liberalism. It is certainly not "liberal" in the modern sense, which too often demands subordination to a different moral code.

I have in the past viewed your somewhat naive spam good naturedly. It takes a lot to irritate me.

But don’t ever again ping me. Your latest posting you is ‘way, ‘way over the line.

You are God and judging me? Grow up. I have One who judges me, and it ain’t you.

JimRob, this Mene mene teckel upharsin thing ought to be pulled. It is sacriligious, if nothing else. And in my humble opinion, some of the vitriol needs to be calmed down.

Nice and nasty. But the polls is the polls. You can say they are bogus, you can say it's too early...or you can just be nasty. Would you care to clarify your comment? In the spirit of Christianity, mind you?

Hey, that's real funny Rhombus, you, citing polls showing the pro-abortionist Rudy Giuliani, the same Rudy Giuliani who did NOT favor a ban on partial birth infanticide up until this week when the Supreme Court outlawed it, YOU, someone who no doubt would like to see a President Giuliani in the White House, are taking offense to the word 'crap' but you do NOT take offense to the long standing position of your candidate who saw nothing wrong with piercing the skull of an almost born child, sucking the new brain of that infant out of the skull, murdering it just before it cleared the birth canal!

And then you have the gall to invoke the 'spirit of Christianity'.

You're as bad as your body Rudy, who said that murdering an unborn child isn't as serious a matter as murdering a child already living.

Shame on you.

This site continues to grow!!!
Then why are the FReepathons taking so much longer?

And what do you base that on? Are you keeping a count of how long they take, and comparing them?

Is that an Excel spreadsheet in your pocket or is that just a sock stuffed in there?

And to think it’s all about killing babies! I know women who have had abortions and it never leaves them, they knew they were babies.

When [Jim Robinson] write[s]: As a conservative site, we are pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty, pro-America., you appear to be defining conservatism almost entirely as a matter of being a social/religious conservative.

No he's not. That's not the way I took it at all.

If so, then this is not really a conservative site -- certainly not the broad-based one it was, when I signed up in 2000. Rather, it is now a specifically social/religious conservative site. If this is the case, then you should expect that this site will have a significantly smaller number of users -- and correspondingly smaller influence. As, I think is, happening.

Well let me help you out with that, America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, by God-fearing patriots who placed their trust in the Almighty, they generally believed that Jesus Christ is the sole manifestation of God, and that the Scriptures proclaiming the Truth of Christ is in fact, the Truth. If you or anyone seeks to embrace that imaginary 'seperation of church and state' that exists NOwhere in the Constitution, you are headed off the reservation, and into secular 'anything goes' territory, you know, like that short lived reality show 'Extreme Libertarianism' which ultimately takes one into a state of chaos and anarchy which has nothing in common with the concepts upon which America was founded.

Now if you believe that the United States should NOT be 'pro-God, pro-Life, pro-America' as stated in the purpose of FR by Jim Robinson, what do you think it SHOULD be? Just one more mammoth secular state?

Here's a clue:

In the 1960's, thanks to the now-burning-in-Hell Madalyn Murray-O'Hair, the Courts evicted God from the public schools, and said that prayers could not be said. That created a vacuum.

Now survey the degradation and the depravity that has filled that vacuum over the past 40 years, with the 'situational ethics' approach to life, New Age babblings and far eastern cult teachings, all of that ANTI-God, ANTI-Life, ANTI-American indoctrination, and ask yourself if we are more, or better off than we were before saying the Lord's Prayer before class begins each day was ruled illegal and 'unconstitutional'?

Don't kid yourself about FR losing members or influence. When you have a concentrated effort by liberals and RINOs across the board trying to infiltrate, influence and sway members of this website into embracing UN-conservative candidates and principles, that is not something you would see if FR had no influence and was as insignificant as you seem to be suggesting.

I hate to say it again, but guess it has to be said: Free Republic is a conservative site.

Like-minded folks know immediately what this means and why we will never "move on from abortion" as Rudy Giuliani and his supporters ask us to do.

If we cave-in to the left by nominating a supporter of abortion rights, gay rights, gun control, illegal aliens, etc., as our candidate for the presidency and de facto leader of the Republican party, then we will have destroyed our own pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty movement and will have destroyed all of our prior pro-life, pro family, pro-liberty work.

Surrender to the abortionists? Not on your life!

Bookmarked and a big ....BUMP

>>>>>Huh...I did what?

Don't play dumb with me. Instead of throwing out lotsa questions, go back and reread your posts on this thread. You want people to believe you don't support Rudy, or defend him either. Then you make a post like this.

>>>>> ..... This is another reason I don't jump into the vitriol over Rudy and sometimes jump to his defense.

So you sometimes jump to Rudy`s defense. If you don't support Rudy, don't be defending him either!

I’ve never seen Jim get this involved in any candidate/issue in almost 10 years of posting on FR. I suppose it’s quite possible I just missed all his anti-Gore and anti-Kerry threads he started. The rhetoric in his own postings give tacit approval for others to do likewise and worse.

Define "God-fearing." That is, how did "God-fearing" impact their beliefs and behaviors?

Muleskinner, I’ve been here since ‘98 and have never seen anything quite like this. And there have been some real barnburners. Mostly fun, though.

We may actually have to vote for a candidate who we don't believe can win, but who best represents our beliefs.

Are you serious?
