Sheryl Crow's Backstage List & Carbon Footprint (Hypocrisy From Toilet Paper Diva!!!)
The Smoking Gun ^ | April 23, 2007

When it comes to Sheryl Crow's touring requirements, if it's Tuesday, this must be Bombay. Gin that is. The rock star's performance contract includes specific day-to-day instructions on what kind of booze Sheryl needs in her dressing room (TSG has never seen such attention to detail in any other concert rider we've posted). For each show, Crow requires 12 bottles of Grolsch beer, 6 bottles of "local" beer, and a bottle each of "good Australian Cabernet" and "good Merlot." As for the harder stuff, promoters are directed to purchase specific booze depending on what day of the week the concert falls, as the below rider excerpt reveals. Additionally, when the global warming warrior hits the road, her touring entourage (and equipment) travels in three tractor trailers, four buses, and six cars. Now that's a carbon footprint!

6 postcard of local interest with stamps
1 bar of soap

Glad to see someone on that crew is literate.

However, if they’re sharing one bar or soap between them, I say, please increase to amount of toilet paper supplied.

If there are 30 crew members, and each has two healthy bowel movements a day, that means 60 squares of toilet paper are needed per day.

A twelve pack of Charmin Ultra, with 200 sheets per roll, equals 2400 sheets, and costs 9.99 at DrugStore.com. This should last Cheryl and her crew 40 days, if I’ve done my math correctly. If Rosie shows up, add 800 sheets per day of usage for her.

Charmin is safe for your sewer or septic system, and it’s made in the USA.

Questions? 1-800-777-1410 charmin.com

Actually everyone is missing the point.

Crow is a woman, talking to women, in their frame of reference.

She is not discussing men or going #2. She's talking going #1. Women, having smaller blathers among other things, go #1 much more often than men. Ever notice to lines at Ladies versus Men's rooms? Unlike men, most of them, have to pat 'it' dry each time they go, with a wad of squares. Folding one square in half, sounds reasonable to me, and would save tons of tissue.

Crow stumbled onto something here.

I watched the CEO of Philips corporation that makes lightbulbs this morning on a business show. He was talking about the company’s support of the Sheryl Crow tour and they are pressing for legislation to make compact flourescent bulbs mandatory in something like 2016. The interviewer asked him if the company makes a bigger margin on the compact flourescent and he replies that the margin isn’t the issue its saving the environment. I am sick of these people. Using this government/ngo/business complex to force crap on us. What a bunch of filthy liars.

“Big Business” loves “Big Government”.

Too bad the morons, a.k.a. DUmmies, Marxist, hippies and other sorts of misguided useful idiots do not realize it.

Of course power mad politicians all make out like bandits.

I wonder if any of these DU folks even get it. You know if there were one area that we could find some agreement with them it might be fighting the big corporations being in bed with big government. Just a dream.

Not a chance. “If it feels good do it” is their motto. The orgasms over big government programs have too much of an effect on their reasoning skills.

Van Halen had a note that no brown M&Ms could be backstage.

That shouldn't be too hard to comply with...since I suspect I've eaten them all myself :)

At the very least a SoftSoap dispenser... wouldn’t you think???

At the VERY least. You can get a dispenser and a big jug of soap to refill it at Costco.

Unless you've got the hardware, don't write the instruction manual.
