Isn’t this in Nancy’s district?

— But since she says there isn’t a war on terror, it’s of no consequence.

I still say they’re practicing.

Then there’s that little matter of a couple of big fires going off in Washington, D.C.

Coincidence?

Maybe I’m too old and remember the cold war from a long time ago. We suspected everything and everybody. Maybe we all ought to be a little more scared.

Growing up in the bay area we had US Steel in Antioch and they were closing down 20yrs ago and I assume are no longer there.

Which makes me wonder do we have any steel mills operating in the US or do we import that now too?

We have plenty of mills...just not that many that can produce the amounts of steel with the complicated welds needed for this project in such short notice. We (I’m a CALTRANS consultant,) think we may have found a source...more to come.

Kiewit and Yeager-Skanska are the only companies that might be able to pull this work off...

Is Cuban really as childish as he is portrayed by some in the media?

Yes.

In fact, I hope that because of the humiliation of losing in the first round, Cuban sells the team. Then I can root for the Mavs again.

That must be one ugly long commute.

It was 20yrs ago.

Use to take us 20 min to drive from John Muir in Walnut Creek to Childrens Hosp in Oakland.

Prior to our leaving for the rural Oregon Coast the commute took 40-50 min. depending on time of day.

I am told by newbies that have come up here that folks commute from Sacratomato now.
Even from the Fresno area to San Fran.
As for Brentwood it use to be a rural farming area and now it is track homes all encroaching on what farms are left.

The area we have lived in here on the Oregon coast is 1 to 2 size acre lots and 98% of us are from Cali. Lotsa retired teachers.

Are you nuts!

They would end up building a bridge right over to the otherside of the border.

That would be one heck of a comute.

Hi,

I wrote the piece at Independent Sources that sono linked. I kind of thought that attributing a black bag op to the Office of the First Lady and saying that “Attempts to think about confirming this story were unsuccessful” would give away the fact that it was poking fun at the truthers. Maybe I am writing for the wrong side :-)

Why does everyone persist in seeing this as Muslim terrorism?

Isn’t it just barely possible that the cause of the wreck was - as stated - a driver going too fast?

Very true ... but these days, terrorism should always be in the differential.

It has been fun shoving this event in the face of the 9/11 Conspiracy Fools, who believe that airplanes couldn’t take down the twin towers, since the temps wouldn’t melt the steel. A bit of a silver lining to this cloud.
