Rosie O'Donnell to be Replaced by Roseanne Barr on 'The View'?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roseanne Barr went from a funny sitcom star to a pariah with one horrible National Anthem' rendition where she grabbed her crotch and spat after butchering the Star-Spangled Banner in San Diego. Rosie O'Donnell went from the 'queen of nice' to the 'queen of mean' by hosting 'The View' shock jock style and blasting away at anyone and everyone that didn't agree with her politics. So - can one replace the other? Can Barbara Walters fading reputation take it?

Rosie O'Donnell to be Replaced by Roseanne Barr?

The New York Post has a report that Roseanne Barr has emerged as the top contender to replace Rosie O'Donnell next year on "The View," sources tell the newspaper.

***

"She's a piece of work, she's a character, she says what's on her mind and she's funny," said a source with knowledge of ABC's sudden and desperate search to find a new co-host to replace O'Donnell who quit the show last week. "They're missing strong personalities on that show, and that's what they're going to need if they want to keep it going," an ABC staffer close to the situation told the Post.

The paper notes that during an appearance on "Larry King" last week, Roseanne danced around the question of joining the "The View." "I'm not looking for the job," she said at one point - and joking at another, "Well, I want $10 million, like Rosie."

I like Roseanne. She’s crazy but I loved her show for the first four years or so.

And she’s not nearly so liberal or foul mouthed as Rosie; well, not so liberal anyway.

“ABC’s Job Listing:

Morning Talk Show Co-host, The View

Great hours! Competitive wage! No experience required. Must be fat, unattractive, obnoxious, with a big mouth and no semblance of class whatsoever.
(Conservatives need not apply)”

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

So who else does that leave eligible?

-Margaret Cho
-Whoopi Goldberg

plus they can always consider Sarah Silverman. She’s a jewel:)

Where’s the Onion disclaimer?

Rosanne will be giving BJs outside the ABC studio on the Hudson.

funny, isn’t it, that their token ‘conservative’ is the show’s only attractive woman??

I’ve been watching season 6 of Roseanne recently. What a great show. I loved the one where Roseanne, Dan and Jackie smoked pot....

Jackie: “Am I in the sink, am I shrinking?”

LOL!

“I saw her in an interview on Fox News a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to find her likeable.”

And then the acid really kicked in?

I watch the Christmas show every year. That’s the one where the neighborhood watch tyrant sends a notice asking residents not to put up tacky stuff for Christmas.

Roseanne pauses and then realizes what she needs to do. the family goes all over town to get the tackiest stuff imaginable.

When they switch on their outside lights, all the lights in the house go out. It’s really cute.

I guess since Kathy Griffin is on the "D" list she can't be considered? ;)

"She's a piece of work, she's a character, she says what's on her mind and she's funny,"

No way, this is nothing more than the MSM trying to influence events.

Roseanne Barr is nothing more than a gravitationally challenged, intellectually deficient, not-even-close-to-a-has-been joke.

I have it on good authority that Sponge Bob Square Pants turned down the offer, thus Roseanne Barr.........

She is lovely. She announced today on the View that she is 3 months pregnant. And she doesn’t have to have much more of the rest of her pregnancy agitated by Rosie’s rants.

I guess you have to be fat, ugly, annoying, and a leftist to qualify for this position?

I happen to have had literally RINGSIDE seats for that “performance”.

I used to be in Real Estate in San Diego. One day, at a weekly meeting of commercial brokers, it came to be that an acquaintance wanted to know if anyone wanted to use his Season Tickets.

It was a “minor” game for the Padres and the others there were coincidentally “occupied”...so I was amazed when it was ME that ended up with the tickets.

When I got to the Stadium, I thought this guy was putting me on....as he had SO casually gifted me the seats....

I went down and down and down....not KNOWING precisely where the seats were...I had only been told they were “pretty good”.

I’ll SAY...!!!

You know that “fastball fence” behind home plate...???

Well, these particular seats just happened to be the FIRST TWO next to the fence....literally on TOP of the Home Team DUGOUT...!!!

I nearly pooped my panties when I realized just HOW good the game was going to be.

..........that is UNTIL Roseanne strode out and PURPPOSELY butchered the National Anthem.

[grrrr.....!!!]

It’s only a few yards from Home plate to those seats and I could CLEARLY see that she PURPOSELY hosed the performance.

When she grabbed her crotch and spit on the ground....well...let’s just say approximately 45,000 people were booing....I don’t know HOW the stadium cops got her out of there alive.

Any statement she has EVER made about that day and her glee in ridiculing a grand tradition and a wonderful song are patently FALSE if she pleads ANY kind of “innocence”.

Nearly ruined the whole experience....

Now, to top THAT off, I had actually MET that nasty “woman” in Denver some years before as a friend had a stand up comedy club, The Comedy Works....met Yackoff Schmirnoff, Louis Anderson, et al.

And, all I can tell you about Rosanne is that not ONE moment of her vicious, brutish facade is “acting”....that’s her alright.

sheesh...!!!

She wasn’t funny then....just CRUDE....and to think I had the dubious “pleasure” of those two encounters....sigh....

Why couldn’t it be somebody COOL...???

~~~~~~
Louis Anderson is positively one of THE funniest people alive, however....!!!
I had dinner with him after his performance and we had to BEG him to stop because we were getting severe jaw cramps from laughing SO hard...no exaggeration....true stories, all....!!!
Back in the Johnson administration, Brian Lamb, who is now CEO of C-SPAN, was a military aide at the White House:
"The thing you learn about Presidents," says Brian Lamb, sitting back in his chair at C-SPAN's executive offices on North Capitol Street, "is that even very big people are overwhelmed at being in the presence of a President." Lamb, who has been called America's best listener, is taking some rare time to talk about his own experiences. "People would get captivated" when talking with Johnson at White House events or in the reception line, says Lamb, and not know how to end the conversation or move on. "Our job was to keep it moving."
The military aides quickly learned to be at ease. In a way, it was one of their duties. "One of the first things this experience did," says Lamb, "was take the awe away from being around famous and important people. I was 24 when I first went to the White House. You're young and impressionable and overwhelmed by big names, but then you realize they're just people."
Alan Merten came to similar conclusions. "As someone in my twenties, I met very powerful people I liked and I didn't like and I learned that power doesn't make you nice and power doesn't make you evil," he explains. "People were nervous in the White House - kings and princesses and governors. I'm sure in their own environment they were comfortable. But the White House made them nervous." It was the job of the social aides to make people feel at home in the President's house. Of course, it wasn't always possible.
"I was told off by Joan Crawford," recalls Lamb of a particularly unpleasant attempt to chat up the Hollywood star. "She was not a friendly human being."
"You were almost like a servant," he adds, crinkling his eyes at the memory. "Barbara Walters treated me with disdain. I'll never forget that."
