ITHACA--On Tuesday, May 1st, 2007, from 12-2 p.m. a broad coalition of immigrant, community, labor, and student groups will join together, in coordination with people around the nation, for a rally and celebration on The Commons (Bernie Milton Pavilion) in Ithaca to declare that no human is illegal.
Students from Cornell University and Ithaca College will be marching from their respective campuses to join with the rally at approximately 12:15. People are asked to wear a white T-shirt on May 1st whether able to attend the rallies or not.
Some existing laws and immigration proposals now in Congress criminalize millions of immigrants. Latino Civic Association President, Carlos Gutierrez, says, "In the face of the growing fear and insecurity of immigrant families resulting from increased federal and state law enforcement, indiscriminate searches, arrests, detention and deportation, the Immigrant Rights Coalition calls on our City and County communities to stand in solidarity with immigrant workers and families. We demand a dignified and fair immigration reform that ensures living wages, health benefits, and a clear path to citizenship. Immigrants are hard working residents that fill key roles in our local economy, enrich the local cultural landscape, and they are productive members of our community who pay taxes, raise families, and contribute to our schools, churches, neighborhoods, and communities."

No Human is illegal but many humans break the law.
Yeah, and we even have "some existing laws" that criminalize rape, murder, assault, etc., and these poor law-breakers should get the same benefit as the illegal alien law-breakers, in selectively ignoring their crime, too?????
Then we should open all the prisons and let those poor people out! We’ll let them know that the city of Ithaca is offering free jobs and housing to any of these poor, unfortunates who have suffered so at the hands of society.
Does anyone have the number for I.C.E.. It sounds like we need to keep it handy.
I’ll bet money that most of these groups are funded in some manner by the CUSA, or some offshoot of it.
They should sneak into Iraq or Iran and see if what they believe works there too.
They are trying to reframe the argument, no human is illegal is correct, but you can be somewhere that is illegal for you to be there.
Break into a bank and tell the judge no human is illegal, he will laugh in your face.
No human is illegal. Such a nice sounding phrase.
I’ve always thought the advocates of open borders should try removing the front doors from their homes for a week—just to see what would happen. Since no human is illegal, shouldn’t be a problem, right?
No human is illegal, but some humans are criminals.
I believe the rest of the U.S. should stand firmly against immigrants from Ithaca.
Like a stopped clock the Ithidiots are right for once:
We should abolish the term. "Illegal Alien".
The new, correct term is...
(Except those seeking political asylum.)
"He will laugh in your face" as he sends you off to prison. Instead of prison send them back to mexico! They think they have broken into a bank look all they are receiving from AMERICAN TAXPAYERS, heck they are even going to march and demonstrate today May 1 as all socialists do today, to thank you for all the welfare benefits you have so graciously bestowed upon them for breaking into the American bank.
Yeah but ask em about unborn humans and it’s off to the abortion mills.
But, humans Mexicans do commit many "illegal" acts, once they enter our country.
Overstaying a Visa and falsifying documents are against the law, last time I checked.
sw
I like it. Criminal alien it is.
Really!!!??? How bout when you have to reach into your own pocket to subsidize them from cradle to grave??? Are they illegal then????
