Why would anyone kill (Ron) Brown?

Why would anyone kill Brown?

By Rev. Barbara Reynolds, NNPA Columnist

April 9, 2007

April ought to be the month that we not only reflect upon the Crucifixion of Jesus but also the untimely deaths of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and former Commerce Secretary Ron Brown, the man often suggested would become the nation's first black president.

What's the connection? So glad you asked.

If the reporter/witnesses, such as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, had stopped talking and writing about the Assassination of Jesus and his subsequent Resurrection, what Scriptures would Christians have to base their faith upon? The Jesus followers could no more have depended upon the Roman soldiers to report truthfully on the Crucifixion than we can depend upon the FBI and the legacy of J. Edgar Hoover to set the record straight on the assassinations of King and Brown.

Brown was killed on April 3, 1996, on the eve of the 28th anniversary of the April 4, 1968 assassination of Dr. King.

Brown was the first African-American to chair the Democratic National Committee. President Clinton, himself, credited Brown, the consummate Washington insider powerbroker, as one of the main reasons why he won the White House in 1994.

It has been more than a decade since the plane Brown and 34 other passengers were riding in crashed on a mountaintop in Croatia. To this day, the following mysteries still remain:

Forensic experts for the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, (AFIP) who examined Brown at a mortuary in Dover, Delaware, reported that Brown had a circular hole in his head that was the size and shape of a gunshot wound. A search of the crash site showed no pieces of debris that could make such a perfectly drill-punched hole.

X-rays taken of Brown's head showed fragments resembling the pattern of a disintegrating bullet. The Institute later conceded that those x-rays turned up missing.

Shortly before U.S. investigators could reach Niko Jerkuic, who was in charge of the Croatian airport's navigation system, he was found dead from a gunshot wound in the chest-an alleged suicide.

Although initial reports, such as Time Magazine, reported that one of the worst storms in a decade thwarted Brown's plane from landing, later reports showed only drizzling rain.

Granted there could be many explanations to why Brown was the only one to have a suspicious gunshot wound since the plane was flying near areas involved in a civil war. Another possibility is that someone could have executed Brown and parachuted off the plane.

Whatever the reasons, the U.S. government's failures created suspicions of a political assassination. Several pathologists called for an autopsy. It still has not been done and the pathologists who tried to alert the public that something was wrong had their careers ruined, according to Jack Cashill, who wrote an excellent book, entitled "Ron Brown's Body."

In my book, "No I Won't Shut up," I tell of a conversation I had with one of those experts, Lt. Col. Steve Cogswell, shortly before he was officially muzzled. Dr. Cogswell was the AFIP deputy medical examiner who asked his supervisors to perform the autopsy. "This whole think stinks," he told them.

Shortly after his forthrightness, Cogswell told me, "I have been re-assigned. I have been demoted because of my reporting on Brown. Sometimes I feel my life is endangered, but people only get 'disappeared' if they are going to tell something, I have already talked and I have no new revelations, so the cat is already out of the bag. Without an autopsy it is just as irresponsible to say the wound was caused by a bullet as to say it was not."

Why would anyone kill Brown? And if someone wanted to kill him, why take 34 innocent people with him. Cashill pointed out that Brown, was the man, who knew too much, was heavily involved in alleged illegal fundraising activities for the Clintons and had mouthed off about not going down alone. Moreover, in the light of the then recent suspicions around the so-called suicide of Vince Foster, another suicide might have raised too many suspicions.

Why do I care? I care not only because, murder is immoral and illegal, but if African-Americans, do not care do you expect the Romans to care?

I care because two weeks before his death, Brown sent word to me to attend one of his high-powered Cabinet meetings. Oddly enough, I had been in Washington journalism circles for more than 20 years and had never heard from Brown. We were not friends. He was not a source. But that day when he announced a new program to aid Africa, he called me to watch.

At a time when I hear no main-stream political leaders calling attention to the mysterious death of Ron Brown, I am watching, just like I believe, Brown, himself, knew I would.

Dick is still trying to get his toe lickings off of all the DC Madame lists.

No time for honorable moments.

Lol! I remember that film of Clinton at Rob Brown's Funeral.

I also remember the autopsy photo with the perfectly round (Bullet) hole in his head. I wonder what really happened.

Ha! That’s the first thing, I noticed, as well - - wrong commas, all over the place. Other than that, though, the author, makes a lot of very good points. It’s a shame, there’s too many commas, though, because, it detracts from the substance of the piece.

Yes, but assuming such a group existed that would murder a planeload of people to protect the President would they not have monitored Monica’s phone calls? According to conventional wisdom she was already viewed as a liability as soon as she started having “private time” with the President.

There are probably few people who see the President without his staff knowing about it.

If they were able to carry off two assassinations to protect the President they would have known “liability #1” was talking to Tripp.

Yes, I remember about Gennifer Flowers neighbor, who got beat up for taking pictures of the ‘Toon outside her apartment.

Bubba ran a regular mafia. That’s why Vince Foster and Jerry Parks are no longer with us.

Links I don’t have, but the articles were posted here on FreeRepublic in the late ‘90s to my recollection. As I recall, someone found the stew, who was seated at the back of the plane, wandering in the wreckage. Soon after she was found with a broken neck.

There must have been a “mop-up” crew in place.

Also, there were a lot of businessmen, big time donors on this plane.

Any guy who would threaten to spill the beans on the Clintons and subsequently jump into an airplane might just as well cut his own throat on the spot.

I believe.
No fairy dust needed.
I shook “her’ hand and it was a hoof.

DC is a creepy place when the wrong hands are shuffling the deck.

Brown had to go. He knew to much, as Clinton’s bag man.

“None of the Clinton murder conspiracy buffs have ever had an explanation for that one.....”

There was no opportunity, she was widely known and WATCHED, they knew people were expecting something like that.

Why she did not have and “arkancide” is way too obvious. Not a mystery at all.

Ron Brown was on an Air Force jet. To suggest that the plane crash was to cover up his murder is to suggest someone on that plane was on a suicide mission.
Preposterous!

Well before Tripp recorded those conversations, Monica was causing trouble, like screaming “Don’t you know who I am!” at White House security when they wouldn’t let her in.

Left out another person just as important. Recall hearing on Bob Grant’s old radio show his interview with CPO Kathleen Janoski, Navy veteran forensic photographer. Very revealing interview. Google: Bob Grant Kathleen Janoski
-—that should get you to the Newsmax report on it, by Carl of Oyster Bay.

Having their dog on that list trivializes the rest of the questionable deaths, don’t you think ?

I wondered the same thing although I suspect it was not trivial to Buddy.
