This was, at the very least, the most sever combination of manslaughter, neglect, and child abuse one could imagine. This was a crime! 7 weeks earlier it would be legal (but still a crime)...

This was just! Birthed at home (ok) wanted a special diet (ok) too damn lazy to take the kid to be looked at when he was screaming all the time and losing weight (crime!)

Maybe the couple are white and restorative justice was applied in the decision. Under restorative justice, whites would not be granted the benefit of the doubt that they were just too dumb to know better.

I beg to differ. They chose to continue the "feedings" despite 6 weeks of the baby dying a slow death. It goes way beyond stupidity -

Best case would be that they were so stubborn that they were going to feed that child that garbage NO MATTER WHAT. Worst case - they were sadisticly starving the child to death.
