Russias state rail monopoly said it planned to carry out maintenance on the rail link to Estonia, disrupting supplies. Can the red leopard change his spots? Even after 1990, I guess the Russkies still need a nuke to land in their laps.

Ping.
Well, here's enough circumstantial evidence on the previous pipeline embargoes, M. and Joe. The UK should pay attention to this.

The cut-off was likely to revive Western fears the Kremlin is using its energy might as a political weapon against ex-Soviet neighbours.
How far-fetched. ;')

Putin using oil as a weapon? No way! Who woulda thunk??!!

I think Russia is preparing for the re-establishment of Empire. It looks to like 19th-20th century poking and prodding- setting up “incidents.”

Isn’t the EU ripping the covers off the bed eager to hop in with Russia?

Instead of massed tanks through the Fulda Gap, Vladmir Putin is using energy to strangle his neighbors he wants to reestablish control over.
I don’t think it will work out as he wishes.

Apologies for barging in on your discussion; I plead total ignorance of the subject. Could someone please explain all this stuff to me. All this hatred, digging up the dead, cutting off oil supplies, etc. Can’t they find some sort of a mutually agreeable solution?

Preludes to war.
This looks to me as Russia working itself into a frenzy to justify retaking the breakaway Soviet republics.

All monuments to the “Great Patriotic War” should be destroyed and all remains of Russian soldiers returned to Russia. I think that’s a fair trade.
