I feel for Scrappleface. He has to try to out-do the Democrats, and it gets harder every day.

So the only question is.. can Bush veto the repeal of the authorization?

Nope, that's actually the second question. The first is whether the Republicans in Congress will be willing to step up and see that a repeal doesn't get passed in the first place. There's lots of procedural games the GOP can play in the House to tie things up nice and good ... but they probably can only delay not stop a vote. In the Senate, though, the GOP can draw a line in the sand and filibuster. But will Mitch & Co. have the intestinal fortitude to do so ... ?

How does one repeal a declaration of war?

I may have seen it done in a Monty Python skit.

The Mother of all Flip-Flops.

Hillary will be able to say she voted for the war before she voted against it...how original.

Interesting question... correlation - could the President veto a declaration of war?

I feel pretty sure he can veto a deauthorization under the war powers act since congress didn’t actually declare war.

Since only Congress can declare war, maybe they feel they can undeclare a war? Interesting Constituitional point and will probably provoke a crisis.

The Dems are too Dim to understand what is at stake in Iraq. So, let’s follow the Dims and get out of Iraq.
This adds up to millions of dollars of oil revenue going into terrorists coffers - secret bank accounts, and perks for Iran,
the progenitor of the terrorists.

More... Byrd about to go on Senate floor and argue for bill to “nullify authorization of force in Iraq.” Clinton is now waffling (Surprise!) and saying she “may not” sign on to this (what a tower of jello she is) ... pressure from Moveon is said to be pushing congressional Dems off the cliff...

And John Kerry can say he voted for the war before he voted against it before he voted against it.
