A pro-family leader in Pennsylvania says families should stay away from Philadelphia until city officials there stop catering to homosexuals. Philadelphia Mayor John Street recently took part in the unveiling of 36 permanent rainbow street signs in an area near the historic district known for its large homosexual population.
According to Gramley, the city was prompted by the Philadelphia Gay Tourism Caucus to approve the street signs. "What the city of Philadelphia is doing is looking for the homosexual [tourism] dollars," she says. "They need to know that if they are going to be accommodating homosexuals, then they're going to lose the traditional family dollars."
The city of Philadelphia is not family friendly, says Gramley -- and families should not choose Philadelphia as a vacation spot, she adds. The AFA of Pennsylvania leader believes a loss in tourism dollars is the only way the city is going to get the message.
"Let's face it," she says; "the majority of people in America hold traditional values, or they at least believe that homosexual acts are not right -- and we need to just send that message to Philadelphia."
Gramley says the country's Founding Fathers would be appalled that Philadelphia is now being touted as a "mecca" for homosexual tourists.
That might be the understatement of the year!

It seems as if the people of Philadelphia don't consider Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell big enough attractions.
Too true. But Philly (think Rendell) must be envious of the tourist dollars that places like Boston and the Cape, Provincetown, other parts of New England are bringing in. And Philly is experiencing higher murder rates, more decay, a fading middle class (at least inside the city). Why not try to get this big spending group? Yeah, the founding fathers are already saddened by Philly, this just heaps it on.
I would guess that the queers have more money to spend than the average family. I am not that surprised. Follow the money!!!
Local pols, however, drew the line on hanging a disco ball inside the giant heart at the Franklin Institute...

Maybe John Street remembers Act Up throwing human blood all over the place in an attempt to get attention. He just wants to have peace and calm after so much chaos and murder. The poor citizens of Philadelphia will survive John Street and hopefully elect a mayor with character and a moral compass. That will be a change
I wonder how those rainbow signs correlate with the location of registered sex offenders.
I bet it will be VERY high.
Guess they’re taking the city of brotherly love to a new (lower) level.
Homoseuxals drive out families. Families have children who require schools.
Perhaps the city commissioners are thinking they can get more tax base from short lived hedonists than families which provide to the future of society.
Philidelphia will be the next detroit.
Mayor Frank Rizzo would have cracked some heads and ‘straight’end this all out.
And he would have told the homos to take their money elsewhere.

Attended a conference in Philly in the late 90s. Saw nothing for which I would want to return. Which puts it a tiny step down from Detroit (which I last saw in the mid-50s/early-60s).
Why are people “chumming” up with homosexuals and Islamics? Why are they so anxious to throw away what has proven to work so well to make America so great - family, church, our republic. our innate generosity? These qualities have worked for several centuries. What is the need to change so prevalent these days?
The family was discussing going there on vacation this year. It now may be something to reconsider. If my family still insists on going, I’ll mention that as an area to avoid.
Because:
A)Because for every gay person in America, there’s a family —figure five or six people — who support him or her.
B)There are over a billion Muslims in the world and in the last 25 years the world has become a very small place.
Although I must say that Philly is one city that would actually BENEFIT from an influx of gay and immigrants. Outside of Center City and Manayunk, the place has become another Detroit.
I don’t agree because:
A) I’m not talking about your everyday gay person, who fits in with the flow of things. I’m talking about the agenda of the gay movement (not more than 3% of the population, I understand) in militantly demanding special rights.
B) If we don’t keep reproducing our kind, the Islamics are naturally going to out number us. That doesn’t mean we need to roll over for them, surrender or provide them with what we do not provide people of other religions. We do have the means by which to protect ourselves if need be, if we will only use them. If we do not we are doomed, for they are not tolerant of religions other than their own.
