Of course, none of this matters once Fred announces.

I want Fred too!

He’s the stealth candidate that will rejuvenate his conservative base as well as “moderates” that still possess some sense.

From his moderate social views to his poor performance at the debates, Rudy Giuliani no longer seems like a shoe-in as the republican nominee.

Gee, what a swell website. Someone should tell them that it's "shoo-in," not "shoe-in," and that "Republican" should be capitalized. Two glaring errors in the very first sentence does not instill confidence in what follows.

Of course, I hope they're right in their analysis, but they need to clean up their spelling and punctuation in order to be taken seriously.

That could be interesting.

If McCain’s numbers are on the rise, and FThompson does jump in, will they split the vote and give the nomination to Rudy? or to Romney?

Thompson was a big-time supporter of McCain in 2000.

If Thompson derails McCain, will McCain pick up his marbles and jump to be an Independent or a Dem? He has considered both previously. And if McCain does leave, will he take enough support to derail the GOP in 2008?

There are so many possibilities in play for both the GOP and Dems in 08, that the nominees are still a toss-up in both parties.

Will the GOP lean leftward and embrace Giuliania?

Will the conservatives manage to wrestle away control of the GOP from the big-business country-club globalist Republicans and manage to astound the MSM by nominating a Hunter or Tancredo?

Will Kuchinich jump from the Dems and become the GOP nominee?

It’s a crap shoot for 08.

Fred Thompson voted for McCain-Feingold and is a lawyer. In addition, he supported McCain in 2000. Those Senators who supported McCain such as Hagel and Limpey Graham have proven untrustworthy.

Just like "exit polls" in 2004, the media-created spin doesn't get them that far.

Among the major issues facing the Giuliani is that he has never run and won a major State race, running for mayor is not the same as running for a State wide office like a Governor or a Senator. Also Rudy will be cleaned by Hillary or Obama in Newyork, it is highly unlikely that he would win his homestate.

Compare this to Mccain, Romney, Thompson etc these guys have won State wide races and widely experienced in the political tactics and strategy needed to win elections.

Guiliani most certainly WILL drop as more conservatives realize how liberal he really is. The only problem is that it will take a long time to get the word out--as most aren't that interested yet in an election a year and a half away.

The more debates, the better--as the sooner that conservatives get the "WHOLE RUDY STORY" (and not just the celebrity version) the sooner that Rudy will drop in the polls.

Run, Fred, Run!!!

Funny how all the Ghouliani apologists here have all but disappeared now that he is beginning to sink the polls.

With both the right and the left trashing Rudy, it’s not too surprising.

Just wait til he gets going, though.

The primaries are 9 months away, the election 17 months away; and GWB is PRESIDENT until then. Remember 1991? 8 dems in the race vs Bush I. It seems axiomatic that the side that sees the most opportunity to win the presidency has the most candidates/ferment.

By early february the political dynamic will look much different, count on it. The most UNITED party will win in 08’.

Rudy is on his way out. Good thing if we have a chance for winning in 2008.

Good job folks, we pushed liberal Rudy out of the lifeboat and stopped his bid to liberalize the Republican Party!

Giuliani’s early lead was primarily due to name recognition. When that is the case, it’s a good bet that the lead won’t last long once the real games begin.

Its going to be fun to see Jeri Thompson as First Lady.

She would be the hottest is US history, she can campaign on an "at least I'm not an ugly communist retard" plank.

We’ve worked so hard to expose Rooty’s liberal views here. I knew it was only just a matter of time before the general public began to see his true colors shining through. From flipping about on abortion, gun control, homo rights, immigration, to a crappy personal life, Rooty is starting his spin down the political toilet. I hope he is flushed altogether pretty soon.

Have you seen Fred on TV recently? He looks more frail than I imagined. Disturbing.
