Think “I’m going to act like I have more access than I do to try to win the argument”.
“As for amnesty (ahh, you’re one of those? Gottcha). GWB was not giving a blanket amnesty....there were requirements, enforcement of criminals, etc.”
No, it was an amnesty. Plain and simple.
“They would have (but keep that bogeyman alive if it helps you).”
You clearly are less plugged in than you think you are.
“The reality is in all men, the value of self-worth and the yearning for freedom lives.....For far too long the citizens of the ME have been allowed to live in the dark ages...ruled by dictators, mullahs and warlords....That was fine, until the world has become too small and our national security is now at stake.”
The only way they will ever leave the “dark ages” is renounce Islam. It is ISLAM that has kept them down.
“But go ahead and harp on a few domestic political issues (that blow with the wind)...and ignore the reality of successes we are having throughout the ME...and against our enemies...”
“A few domestic political issues”... Figures you’d view anything that casts your CINC in a bad light dismissively.
Saudi Arabia is our enemy and the source of this Jihad. What are we doing about them? Fatah is our enemy and is a terrorist organization. WHY ARE ARE FUNDING AND ARMING THEM? Take the blinders off.
And what one GOP senator is probably most culpable for Bush’s low approval numbers? Maybe the one mouthing off against the president anytime a microphone is shoved in his face.
McCain feh!
A mass amnesty is hardly the “flavor of the day”. If a mass amnesty and political power shift to the left is something that GWB wants, then I will NEVER stand in solidarity with him. I will never sacrifice my principles and the US Constitution to be part of some club.
Your metaphor is weak.
Et tu, McCain?
And where the values of self-worth and freedom come...the words of Jesus will follow....and those two values will only increase after such....
Think Im going to act like I have more access than I do to try to win the argument.
No, just a reality. There were plenty like you regarding the border...on the issue of "we should be monitoring phone calls, messages, etc of all threatening Muslims....but we aren't"....Prior to the NSA Ops being released that we most certainly were.
More is happening on our borders, regarding profiling, dirty bombs, etc....then can openly be discussed (and thankfully so).
President Bush’s rating isn’t hurting the Republicans as much as these “Moderate” ( RINO )Republicans are..They are the problem....
“The GOP lost in 06 because they didnt attack the DEMs...instead they listened to the MSM and attack ourselves and our CINC....Foolishness 100% correct.
1. They allowed the culture of corruption to be painted, while Murtha, Jefferson, Feinstein, Mollyhan, Menedez, and others sat back and coasted.
2. They got snowballed by the Foley October surprise, while a Democrat in South Dakota and NY got caught doing worse at the same time, let alone the Studds precedent.
3. They let the Bush lied story go on for 3 years despite similar lies told by the current leaders of the Democrat party.
Its like watching a child get beat up in a schoolyard, you just wish hed at least TRY to fight back.”
No way I can let this go. This is the MSM version of why Republicans lost in November.
The real reason that Republicans lost is that they lost their base over the lack of fiscal conservatism, ignorance in immigration policy, etc.
There was a whole lotta revenge voting in November. You did know that the Libertarian Party got 10% of the vote in the races they contested last November. People are pissed and, mark my words, I may never vote for a Republican again after 2000-2006. They backstabbed me on everything they promised. I’m a social conservative AND a fiscal conservative.
Provided those values come in the first place.
“There were plenty like you regarding the border...on the issue of “we should be monitoring phone calls, messages, etc of all threatening Muslims....but we aren’t”....Prior to the NSA Ops being released that we most certainly were.”
Uh, huh. My sources say different and I won’t go further then that.
” More is happening on our borders, regarding profiling, dirty bombs, etc....then can openly be discussed (and thankfully so).”
Yes. Drug dealers and the Mexican military cross with impunity. Muslim prayer rugs are found in the desert. Keep on having that “faith” in our government.
“bush has probably elected a democrap president in 2008.”
Like father, like son. Why did I support a Bush again...and twice? I feel like vomiting at my own sheepleness.
“Ordinarily, the WH would do what it could to keep Congress from being lost. In this case, I think they WANTED Congress lost. Either that, or Rove is not quite as bright as some think.”
This was the first thing I thought in November...it’s like they “want to lose.” I couldn’t figure out why but the pieces are falling into place now. Bush wants amnesty.
The alternative was worse, but that doesn’t make me any happier to have voted for him in hindsight.
It’s certainly more important to him than the war, the survival of our party of even the country, when it comes down to it.
Bush isn’t the reason the GOP got kicked in the tushkush in the mid-term elections. It was the GOP members of Congress who were acting like spend-free liberals that did it and abandoning the conservative principles that people voted for beginning in the 80’s. The GOP has been it’s worst on enemy.
perfect
I agree with the point you raise; however, it’s not mutually exclusive to my own.
“This is the MSM version of why Republicans lost in November.” The MSM version of why (just listen to the Dems) is b/c of Iraq.
“The real reason that Republicans lost is that they lost their base over the lack of fiscal conservatism, ignorance in immigration policy, etc.” That’s 100%, but also because of how they were painted in the media: corruption, pedophiles, etc.
“I may never vote for a Republican again after 2000-2006.” To each his own, but a non-vote for Republicans is a vote for democrats, and while Republicans may not always give you all you want, Democrats will always give you everything you don’t. I maintained such an attitude in the 1990s, as a result, we got Clinton. I won’t make that mistake again, and reviewing the post-2006 election, I hope you too will not chose the left by punishing the right, b/c in effect, that’s what you’re doing given the current system.
“Why did I support a Bush again...and twice?”
Al Gore and John Kerry.
And in 2008, you can either choose the GOP candidate, albeit perhaps a RINO, or enjoy 4-8 yrs of Hillary, Obama, or Edwards.
McCain’s low pol numbers hurt the Republican Primary!
>>>The only arena where we are losing is the PR battle.<<<
yes.
and the democrap media know that appearances are reality.
my democrap tv-moron neighbors foam at the mouth at bush because they believe what they see on tv.
True Dat!
