Police: Bullets Go Through Dog, Hit Officers

INKSTER, Mich. -- Two officers were shot on Friday in Inkster.
Inkster police confirmed that officers had a search warrant to enter a home for undisclosed reasons. They said there was an aggressive pit bull inside the home. An officer fired three shots at the dog and the bullets went through the dog, and hit two officers who were standing near a back door, according to police.
One of the officers was hit in the ankle and the other was hit in the thigh.
The officers were transported to Annapolis Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

This officer needs a bit more instruction on the proper use of a firearm. Never shoot in the direction of people. Unless they are what you are shooting at. One must take notice of what is in the background when you fire a weapon.

Do they choose targets where there are dogs to shoot? 10 years ago police were targeting houses to hit based on confiscated property values. Maybe some still are.

sounds like another case of overswatting with undertrained wannabes. “undisclosed reasons” indeed. in this day and age we can’t presume it was necessary for a dynamic entry, but it is always the first option because it’s so cooool.
