"staked out his own dislike of abortion but said he supported a womans right to choose." You can't have it both ways numbnuts.
Giuliani again took on Democrats who want an early withdrawal from Iraq. The party in control of Congress is locked in battle with Bush over a war funding bill that the president has vowed to veto. Anybody proposing giving the enemy a timetable of our retreat is proposing something that is fundamentally irresponsible and something that is unheard of in the history of war, he said. And giving them a timetable of our retreat puts the troops there in jeopardy and it puts the whole strategy (against terrorism) in jeopardy. AFP Also from the cited source.

There is no basic difference between all the Republicans running for POTUS, except for Ron Paul. They all support the Bush doctrine and don't believe we should create a time table for withdrawal from Iraq. So Rooty has nothing on the other candidates in that regard.
Exactly what other issues do you think a liberal like Giuliani can be trusted on?
Rooty can't be trusted to support limited govt. We know Rooty supports gun control and an assault weapons ban. Flip flops and nuances aside, we know Rooty supports abortion on demand as a constitutional right and has always opposed a ban on partial birth abortion. And his support for gay rights and amnesty for illegals is well documented.
What do you support in Rooty`s liberal agenda?

Why not? There are people that oppose the death penalty, yet they support the state’s right to execute criminals. There are people that are one religion, yet they support other’s rights to freedom of religion. Ther probably are many instances of someone personally opposing something, yet supporting the current laws.

It’s too convenient for him to say that. The statement was purely to appease.

I see you've been thoroughly hoodwinked by Giuliani's liberal double talk and his penchant for moral relativism. Abortion is not just any issue. Its an issue of life versus death. The position that Rudy takes is the same position that all liberals take. The same position the Clinton's take, along with John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and the other leftwingers who populate the Democratic Party.
The Republican Party is the life party. Been that way since Reagan in 1980. If both parties are for abortion and death, then the GOP will die off as a major political influence.

That may be true, I have no idea. My comment was on those people that oppose something, yet support the current laws.

I haven’t listened to much that he has said. My comment was on those that oppose something, yet support the current laws.
I personally am against the taking of human life, but I also understand that depending on the circumstances, taking a human life can be justified/unjustified, required/unnecessary, expeditious, murderous, abhorrent, etc. I believe it is between one’s self, the law and God.

Great way to get elected, start out by disenfranchising a large strong segment of the party.
To: miliantnutcase
Speaking out of both sides of his mouth again. He still no different from Clinton, Obama, or Edwards on the abortion issue, close on gun-control. Unforgivable.

I would hardly call Rudy's postions moderate. Rudy is a full fledged liberal.
Rudy says, "Nobody's perfect. I've made mistakes in my life. I've prayed about them. In my case you can you can judge me on my public record".
So I guess this means Rudy prayed and God gave him the go ahead to keep making mistakes.
No thanks, Rudy, you must have been praying to some other God, your private life and public record are a disgrace to mankind and an abomination to God.
Seems it pretty well disqualifies Rudy for the GOP nomination!

The problem is, Rudy went beyond merely stating that he supported current law, he stated that he supported abortion for other people. That’s different than just saying he is against it, but would uphold the law as stands.
His statement means he either sees others as not being afforded the same level of humanity as himself, or that he’s lying about his abhorance of abortion. Either one is not good and not GOP presidential material.

"Rudy must have been praying to some other God.....his private life and public record are a disgrace to mankind and an abomination to God.....pretty well disqualifies Rudy for the GOP nomination!" Rudy may have prayed to God, but I really wonder if God even listened, given that He knows more about Giuliani than anyone.
