Contingencies for nuclear terrorist attack
SF Chronicle ^ | May 11 | James Sterngold

Posted on 05/14/2007 10:03:52 PM PDT by PghBaldy

As concerns grow that terrorists might attack a major American city with a nuclear bomb, a high-level group of government and military officials has been quietly preparing an emergency survival program that would include the building of bomb shelters, steps to prevent panicked evacuations and the possible suspension of some civil liberties.

Many experts say the likelihood of al Qaeda or some other terrorist group producing a working nuclear weapon with illicitly obtained weapons-grade fuel is not large, but such a strike would be far more lethal, frightening and disruptive than the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Not only could the numbers killed and wounded be far higher, but the explosion could, experts say, ignite widespread fires, shut down most transportation, halt much economic activity and cause a possible disintegration of government order.

Survival for themselves more likely, from the mob of angry Americans fed up with all of them!

That's why the part about: the possible suspension of some civil liberties. Those would include a ban on gun ownership and restructions on free speech. Ironic that the two so-called leaders in the GOP race for 08 fit right in with at: Giuliani abhors the Second Amendment and McCain abhors the First Amendment.

sigh!!

About 50 years late I guess but hopefully not too late.

I recall when Y2k was approaching the folks who were trying to get prepared were call Crackpots, Zealots, Radicals and all manner of nasty names especially since noting really catastrophic came out of the Y2K hysteria.

However NOAH in the Bible was called some of the same names too I guess.

Sadly, we won’t get to the list of things we should be doing until after the attack. Those include destruction of the Pakistani havens, and elimination of any threat from Syria and Iran. But we are back in pre 9-11 thinking, like it or not.

Remember subjects, stay inside your homes and off the roads until your betters have been evacuated in order of elected seniority.

And how should they take .. “steps to prevent panicked evacuations”

By brother thinks they will shut of all the newer cars with “onstar” type of systems.

Do we lose the right to travel?

And allot of those $Billions in Homeland Security Department grants are going for new flower beds and golf courses and similar frivilous spending, instead into preparations and contingencies.

“the possible suspension of some civil liberties.” Several million dollars have been set aside for enforcement of smoking bans should a catastrophe like this occur.

Rand Corporation studied the effect of a 10 kiloton nuke in San Pedro Harbor (LA Calif). Short, chilling and an easy read.

Considering the Effects of a Catastrophic Terrorist Attack

This study results from the RAND Corporation’s continuing program of self-. initiated research.

Wellllll,

The puppet masters wouldn’t want toooooooo much work on it too far ahead of time. Would mess up their plans to create terror scaring everyone into a tyrannical global government.

Besides, they are serious about reducing the world’s population to 500,000,000.

As witnessed by their modern stonehenge monument: The Georgia Guidestones:

Absolutely correct. An ounce of prevention....

Of course, their real concern-—

“...a possible disintegration of government order.”

Lose the right to travel? Probably.

And the right to leave one’s home without being shot on sight given various curfews.

The RAND corp is clearly a tool of the globalists and has long been so. Used to respect a lot of these think tanks until I learned of their connections and inter-connections and goals.
