so he's not allowed to seek public office because he likes sports memorabilia ? ....odd

but, it no doubt adds to the splash poo on rudy pile, so it suits a purpose

I’ve heard of college class rings that cost more than this, and they weren’t as ornate as the rings.

Really? $2,500 and up for a college class ring?

You can buy a Jostens "Regal" style college ring in gold with sapphire - top of the line from the biggest manufacturer/retailer of college rings - on eBay for a few hundred bucks.

BIG FRIGGING DEAL !!!

It might be a bigger deal if CharlesWayneCT's math were accurate.

But it isn't.

I was actually being generous in saying that a ring of that description in 2000 had raw material costs of $2550.

For a manufacturer, 3 carats of diamonds in one-eighths would cost less than a thousand dollars, not more than $2000.

Only elite leftists are “allowed” to be wealthy.

Boy, is the ridiculous Wayne Barrett scraping the bottom of the barrel, or what?

Pagoda.... in this case being a NE phrase for such properties as “The Kennedy Compound” etc. Not meant literally. Gore only used real Pagodas for illegal Campaign fundraising and possibly ice tea-driven pitstops.

Pardon, I didn’t know that. I didn’t even realize open secrets had personal finances. I’ve only used it for campaign info. Thanks for that tip.

Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul are both millionaires.

Brownback is worth millions as well...estimates from 2 million to 9 million....FYI...

I don't think the term "millionaire" means a whole lot in some contexts...Hunter probably owns real estate ... doesn't mean he's driving a Jaguar !

Yeh - it’s so silly you almost have to laugh at the very idea that someone considers this news.

Weird is what it is.

After some other news I have heard about Giuliani I was curious about what type of jewelry he wore.

It’s interesting because it is another “where did this come from?” story to bring down Rudy by the MSM. Rudy is the only Republican who consistently polls ahead of Hell’s Queen in most polls. So while many of my fellow Republicans disagree with Rudy on a number of issues, we should take notice of who is trying to bring him down and why.

Sounds quite plausible to me.

I agree. What a collector would pay is not at all the same thing as what a team owner would pay to buy these things by the dozens.

"....it was his contention that he paid full value for them—$2,500 for the 1996 ring in 2004 and $4,500 apiece for 1998, 1999, and 2000 rings in 2003—that had much of the sports-memorabilia world laughing."

To me, it smells like another grab for the goodies -- and BS about it being a "full value" purchase...

Rudi's "explanations" of his prior performance, behavior, positions and friendships --- sound less credible than Hillary's..
