ATLANTA (AP) -- Yolanda Denise King, daughter of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior, has died. That word from a spokesman for the King Center in Atlanta.
RIP Yolanda.
I was born on the exact same day she was. Sure gave me the creeps to hear it on this morning's news.
“Compare the respectful condolences on this thread with the anonymous left-wing bile spewed in Cininnati about Rev. Falwell:”
I CERTAINLY don’t excuse the vitriol we have seen toward Rev. Falwell, but why would anybody spew anything negative about this woman? I don’t imagine she was much of a lightning rod and certainly wasn’t a very public person.
RIP. Prayers for the family.
They will get equal coverage from the Lord. That’s all that counts. RIP Falwell and King.
I too despise the spewing about Falwell, although I certainly didn’t agree with him on everything. But Falwell WAS different from King in that he purposely said outrageous or provocative things to increase publicity and air time. He admitted he did that on purpose. The payback, as he was well aware, is that you become a target.
God bless her and their family!
I was quite surprised to hear her on Larry King last night. She’s down to 66 pounds but her voice is still strong and she maintains she gets dressed and goes out every day.
I don’t think she was the only pro-life King. May she rest in peace.
