Boehner will lose his smoking privileges at the Dem club if he angers them too much. It’s about the only place left to smoke since Nanzi banished it.

Right. I’ll believe it when I see it. These are Republicans, after all. They’re afraid of their shadows.

And if they do actually carry it through, do you have any idea how the MSM will spin it so it looks like it’s the GOP, not the Dimmycraps, who are abuing power?

Anything for ideology. For the mainstream media, truth is whatever serves the party.

Real men and women, America’s finest, are in Iraq and Afganistan fighting for our country. How pathetic that all we have representing us in DC are cowards looking for their gonads.

If the Rep’s in the House cave on this, there will be another 20 MILLION immigrants on the public dole in the United States within 10 years. Thanks to Sen. Kennedy and President Bush’s collusion to save Social Security until after Kennedy and Bush pass away in old age.

Both clans in the Senate are right now in private meetings on finalizing an amnesty bill to utterly destroy the country, but only allows the destruction to start just after the youngest of the Senators are ready to fade away in retirement homes.

It’s not the end of the Republic, it’s the end of Democracy. It’s the 51% permanently eating from the trough. And Bush is the architect behind this.

The only chance we have is if on this somewhat related matter that the House Reps decide to grind the government to a halt.

Anything less and there won’t be a country for the House Rep’s grandkids to be the ruling elite over.

Don’t forget that the GOP leadership is allowing the MSM to spin their crap. They’ve had six years to fight back.

So in other words, if Pelosi scraps it, then she can add her anti-war/Defeat in Iraq amendments to just about any other critical piece of legislation, whether the amendments are “germane” to the core legislation or not. Yeah, that sounds like a real recipe for disaster. Sounds like she is really pulling the House down on top of herself...

What’s this little bulge on the House Republicans? Could it be a possible gonad?

Nah. It's a hernia.

Pelosi is a pure sick stoned nut. Typical of the far left way of doing things, just change the rules to their benefit. What is so sad is that a huge group of Americans applaud this tactic feeling whatever does the job. Still say 2/3 of Americans are brain dead. They are so busy playing with toys that just don’t spend a little time thinking.

In theory, the 'germaneness rule' was Henry Clay's attempt to prevent the remnants of the Federalist party (which had done a complete meltdown in the presidential election of 1820) from preventing the House from doing its work. The few remaining Federalists somehow got into the very bad habit, on any bill, of proposing all sorts of amendments to the bill under consideration, none of which had anything to do with the subject of the bill itself.

The amendments in question were pretty carefully crafted to exploit divisions, particularly sectional ones, among the Democrat-Republicans ... and they were rather successful in doing so, too. Clay finally had enough, and pushed through the germaneness rule, which was easily done due to his party's huge majority.

Apparently, now, Bela Pelosi & cronies want to (try to) rule ANY Republican amendment out of order due to lack of germaneness. I say 'apparently' because that's the only evident and more or less rational explication of this tactic. Evidently, this is yet another attempt do redefine the plain meaning of a word, a la 'is' by Xlintoon, and 'gay' by the faggots, and 'ethics' by the Democratic Party at large.

If nothing else, this should be vastly amusing, as when considering, say, an AMT bill, Democratic amendments on, say, the 'kick-in' point of the tax will be allowed as 'germane' by the Spewer, er, Speaker, whereas Republican amendments on the same sub-topic will be ruled 'not germane'.

Naturally, I may be incorrect as to Bela's specific intent, insofar as I have a hard time thinking like a criminal. You can, however, bet the ranch and your first-born child that Bela has something like this in mind, if not this specific flimflammery as cited.

I should think that, for once, we are apt to see some spine in Boehner and friends. Why? Because if they let this gross perversion of both language and traditional House procedure stand, they become completely powerless, shouldn't even waste their time showing up for sessions.

As we both know, I'm sure, politicians will not stand for anyone, especially a 'colleague' (sic), taking away a shred of their power.

FReegards!

She can offer any amendment she wants without the Motion to Recommit tool the GOP has.

The MTR is the only thing the GOP has to amend a bill substantively since any legit amendment never makes it out of a Dim-controlled committee.

Wellm, they can’t pass law, they can pass bills. Since the senate must agree, and the Republicans have their own legislative veto, this means she is just doing shit. May she is trying to debund the war etc. by shutting down the legislative process.

“This is an astonishing attempt by the majority leadership to duck accountability for tax-and-spend policies the American people do not want,” said House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).

Don't know how he gets his pants on with balls that big.
