Trooprally's son, Staff Sgt., USMC, FReeps at Olney: Wk 72-Olney,MD 5-12-7:Operation Infinite FReep
May 16,2007

Posted on 05/16/2007 2:36:14 PM PDT by trooprally

Our son, Staff Sgt., USMC, and his family were in town this weekend before his mid-June deployment to Iraq.

BELOW LEFT: Our son with Legionnaire Halsey, USMC, Korean War Vet. Our son's chin hair is part of the relaxed dress code for under cover investigators. BELOW RIGHT: [Mrs] T, "MOM", stopped by while out getting some last minute things for our big family get together later in the day. Cindy_True_Supporter holds her sign directed at the moonbats across the street.

I have to digress a little from the thread. I have thought hard on whether to add the following info. [Mrs] T and I have gotten some sour looks and comments from FReepers when we tell them our son is a NCIS investigator. I need to say here, that he has been with NCIS for a little over a year now and he is NOT connected with the Pendelton 8 or other similar investigations. Concerned about comments we might receive about our son, we have not posted on the Pendelton 8 threads. But I will say this, the Pendelton 8 Marines are getting treated badly and we would love to see their case dropped.

Let me also say this. Our son is proud to be a Marine. He has the old Corps attitude. This attitude got him an invite by an Iwo Jima Vet to their reunion. And our son was only a Lance Corporal at the time. He was in "Marine Corps heaven" at the reunion listening to the "salty" tales. He now has 11 years in the Corps.

Also, our son is proud of his work. It was NCIS who requested that he be transferred from the Marines' Criminal Investigative Services to NCIS. They heard about his excellent investigative work. Our son's commander didn't want to lose him to NCIS but knew it would be best for his career.

With that said, continuing with the thread.

Having our son and his family with us this week was great. He got to hear all the honks and see the waves in support of our military. He also got to see the lack of support for the moonbats and the reaction of some drivers.

FReepers and Lurkers in attendance today were Cindy_True_Supporter, (CTS), BufordP, Olney-Keith, Lurker Bill and his daughter, (aka Lurker Bill from MD on Walter Reed AARs), Legionairre Halsey, myself ([Mr] T).

We once again out numbered the 4 moonbats.

Olney-Keith had to drive past the moonbats to get to our corner and was going to yell at them. But upon seeing their age up close, he couldn't do it. But he did honk and wave to us before pulling into the parking lot behind us.

BELOW LEFT: BufordP and Lurker Bill bringing blue banner from the car. BELOW RIGHT: It must have been a rough day for everyone. It took Halsey, BufordP and L. Bill's daughter to set up the blue banner that usually L. Bill sets up by himself. CTS and local Barb chat in the back ground.

BELOW LEFT: Vets in attendance this week: Cindy_True_Supporter, BufordP, Korean War Vet Halsey and our son. BELOW RIGHT: L. Bill's daughter, Olney-Keith and L. Bill in back ground. L. Bill's daughter was in stitches laughing when a car, stopped for the red light, kept blaring their horn for the whole time.

BELOW: Our Corner. There are four banners in the pic. The white one with the 5 service emblems and "We Support Our Troops" is attached to the light pole.

BELOW LEFT: Our left flank. BELOW RIGHT: Our right flank.

BELOW: SEMPER FI and THANK YOU to ALL our Military Personnel

I said a personal thank you to your son and enjoyed a short conversation before you yanked him away for the Vet photo shoot. Please ignore any sour comments from poster. You and your son should be very proud of his service. We as a nation should be eternally grateful. As far as the posters themselves, you should be ashamed.

One of my closest friends served in the Marine Reserves during the 1990s. He spent several years as a Deleware State Trooper and the last 2 years with NCIS (as a civilian - he is no longer in the Marines). Last summer he volunteered for Iraq and spent 4 months in country with NCIS. He was recently married and we all questioned why he would volunteer. He said he felt ashamed that he was never deployed while serving in the Marines. He didnt feel it was right that so many are currently sacrificing and he was always state-side. We all told him he should be proud of his service, but he volunteered anyway. Having never served, I cant fathom the dedication these guys have to their beloved Corps. But I thank God every day for the men and women in uniform who volunteer to do so.

O-K -

Thank you for your story.

Our son was also concerned about not going to Iraq with his fellow Marines. But after he officially finished the NCIS course and they asked for volunteers, his hand went up.

And yes, these young patriotic Americans know what they are up against, both from the radical Muslims and our own politicians. But they are still volunteering for duty.

I hope someday they will also deserve the “Greatest Generation” name because they are joining to fight a war in which there are so many against them at home.

[Mr] T

Forgot to put in the thread that our son’s primary mission is to interrogate insurgents. His outstanding reputation was secured with the Marines when he solved a 10 year old murder case.

Thank you for the update and personal comments. Screen got a little foggy at the pride it reflected.

I am not sure if I am more proud of your son or his MOM and DAD!

"I am not sure if I am more proud of your son or his MOM and DAD!"

He took the few good traits we have and expanded on them. Then he perfected his own. We are very proud of that.

Don’t think my height would save me from any Marine’s wrath. :-)
Would have liked to have met him. Please give him a sincere thank you.
