Smoking In Private Clubs Overturned
Maybe Judge Cain can order the legislature to force private clubs to accept everyone who wants in.
Playboy mansion, here I come!!!!
;p
If a private club wants to allow smoking that is the private clubs business and none of the governments. People who make comments like yours can only be liberals, or worse, communist, willing to subvert others freedoms in order to retain your smug sense of superiority because you "don't smoke". I don't smoke either but I recognize the rights of others to smoke on private property as long as the property owner allows it, NOT the government's business to regulate a legal activity on private property.
If people don't want to frequent those establisments then they are free not to go there.
BTW, you liberals give yourselves away when you make these idiotic statements , because you can't see that the real right being deprived here is not the right to smoke but the right of private propery owners to decide what legal activity can take place in their establishments.
EGAD..........
I tend bar in a private club (Moose Lodge) and I can not serve anyone who is not a member, unless they are guests of a member, not Lodge rules, state law.
“Polluting the air other people breathe is not a right.”
As you demonstrate, neither is intelligence. It’s about the rights of business-owners, nanny-stater.
I presume you don’t drive, use electricity or exhale since you have no right to do such things since they pollute the air people breathe.
Don't worry,Big Cat, we'll send you a cake with a file in it. (grin)
Veteran’s should picket this guys restaurant until he goes out of business.
Do you happpen to remember which ste it was (MA?) that some legislator introduced a bill (never passed) that would have banned smoking in private homes if children lived there?......it’s for the children, after all...........
better not put any TRANS-FATS in that cake , or you’ll be joining him!...........
“The madness if getting even more maddening”
This is not the country I grew up in. It sounds cliche, but it’s true, and I know no other way to express it. We’ve shredded the constitution. People have access to more information, but are more oblivious than ever.
One day our children will wonder why they aren’t free. They’ll blame our generation for letting it happen.
Victory Porridge.
More, sir! Could I please have some more?.........
Sounds like the Russian that'll burn down his neighbor's house.
More judiciocracy.
“Judge David Cain (right) of the Franklin County Common Pleas Court ruled that the state overstepped its authority in writing rules exempting private clubs,”
Then how on earth does the state have the authority to ban a legal activity on private property? If it doesn’t have the authority to write exemptions, how does it have the authority to write the law?
Polluting the air other people breathe is not a right...So, stay away from me when you see I’ve lit up. Solved.
“Polluting the air other people breathe is not a right.”
Really? Then in that case we better ban using gas powered lawn mowers, driving cars, bbq grilling, smokehouses, candles, insense, manufacturing, and methane expulsion.
“They cant stop us, they can only hope to contain us.”
Oh yes, they can, if they see value in it.
I smoke cigars, probably 4 a week. I smoke one while I walk the dog in a public park. I figure I have 2 years to enjoy that before smoking in a public park is banned. I’m absolutely serious. I get looks from non smokers... outdoors... in a PARK!!!
We will gladly give up freedom to get others to behave as we see fit. People seem oblivious as to how steep, and slippery that slope really is.
“Polluting the air other people breathe is not a right.”
If a PRIVATE club, and it’s members decide a legal activity is something they wish to do in the club, is it your right to determine they shouldn’t because you may want to work there?
“The vast majority of immigrants (legal and illegal) come from socialist countries.”
They come from failing, crappy socialist countries. And they’re determined to make this country just like the one they left.
