Duncan Hunter is our countrys last hope. If he doesnt win in 08, itll be the end of America as we know it. Smoothtalker, I would urge you to at least give some money to Hunter, just dont give any to the RNC. I gave money to Hunter. I think this amnesty nonsense will give some of the lesser known candidates a chance against the ones GOP HQ has selected for us.

Maybe I’ll send him a few bucks.
He’s a former Army Ranger and seems real steady on the issues that concern me.

Bush will NOT veto this bill. It closely mirrors the type of immigration proposal that he espoused in his 1999 and 2000 election campaign.
You will have to work on blocking this some other way.

The RINO’s in the race(Rudy McRomney) are all weak on illegal immigration. I hope that the media stops ignoring Hunter after this tragedy.

why is this breaking news? Apparently, it's been moved. I agree it isn't breaking news, though -- anyone with half a brain cell would know that Hunter would react exactly this way (and I'm saying this as a good thing). "Breaking News" would be if he had suddenly gone senile and supported this POS.

Im surprised that the unions havent been squealing like stuck pigs on illegals 1) taking away work from potential members, and 2) from allowing the free market to raise the hourly rate for such work. Again, its the Washington mind versus the little people they represent. They see it as a giant organizing campaign for more dues.

"I just wonder where all the outraged border-bots were in November of 2006 when it was time to support the courageous Republicans in the House of Representatives who actually fought the good fight on immigration reform?"
We were working for and supporting the anti-illegal Republicans, despite the efforts of the RNC to marginalize them. This outrageous amnesty is the direct result of President Bush's determination to force it on us. The RNC, headed by Bush's choice, Mel Martinez, loves this bill.
Your attempt to fault conservatives for this debacle is laughable.
To: pissant
I still haven’t backed a candidate but I’m sending the Hunter campaign some $ today because I’d like to see him replace one of the other ‘front runners.’
Anyone who can send this guy $20, please do. We need to replace one of the Rudy McRomneys with an actual conservative.

Realistically, He is an unelectable unknown.
A better course, a doable course, would be to recapture the House and have him serve as Speaker.

Bush has been wanting this for years. Once he started calling them “guest workers”, it was clear that he figured he would be able to sign some sort of amnesty.
Weve only built 2 miles of the 700 mile fence we were promised.
Big Business doesn’t want it, Bush doesn’t want it, the GOP doesn’t want it(The Democrats don’t want it. Back when Bush was Governor, he wanted us to be as close to Mexico as possible (so did the democrats). I have a very strong feeling that that’s the reason why we have dragged our feet on the wall. (Because there is no one party that wants to do ANYTHING to stop the illegals!)
THERE fixed it!
To: bert
A better course, a doable course, would be to recapture the House and have him serve as Speaker He's already going to give up his House seat, win or lose the primary, so that option is off the table. VP or SecDef (maybe even Homeland Security?) are excellent possibilities, however.
