Rush: Immigration Bill Will Kill GOP
NewsMax.com ^ | May 18, 2007 | staff

Supporters call it a Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, but top radio talker Rush Limbaugh has another name for it. He calls it the "Comprehensive Destroy the Republican Party Bill."

During Friday's syndicated broadcast of the Rush Limbaugh program, Rush criticized the Senate's immigration proposal as liberalism gone wild.

"Liberals are trying to tear this country down institution by institution and rebuild it in their own image, and this is one of the steps that they are trying to make it happen," he said.

Rush warned that if this bill comes out of the Senate in its present form - and it's highly doubtful that it will - the liberals in the House will not vote for it. He said the politicians realize that there are Democrats in California, Arizona, Texas and Virginia where illegal immigration is a red hot issue and a vote for this bill would be political suicide.

As for Republicans, they have already lost California, Rush reminded his listeners. If they lose Virginia and lose Florida, it's all over for the GOP as far as elections go. And being blamed for this immigration bill could cost them both states.

Rush explained that this is why Senate Democrats want Republicans to receive "credit" for passing this bill.

"It's a piece of legislation that hardly anybody has ever seen," he said, yet already "there are walls of opposition that are being built on all sides of this."

The bill, he warned, will create "a brand new, giant welfare state paid by the rest of us," yet illegal immigrants are telling the media: "'I don't like this. I don't like having to go home. I don't want to pay these fines.'"

They needn't worry, Rush said. The illegals will not be forced to go home at all. They are not going to pay any fines. It's not going to happen because there is no political will to do so.

"Once this bill passes they'll be talking about how if you have to go home it will split up families and they'll say the fines would be taking food out of the mouths of poor children by making the parents pay these ridiculous fines," Rush told his audience.

Speaking of why any Republicans are supporting the bill, Rush explained: "You could legalize rape in this country if you simply called it the Civil Rights Act of 2007 because nobody on Capitol Hill has the guts to vote against anything that claims to be broadening or creating civil rights. It's a code word."

"The 2008 Revolution has started!"

Hey! When even our own Republican Senatorial "friends" shove something so filled with scoff-law stench right in our faces... You're damn right the resentment will boil right over the top!!!

They've been playing "Dare Base" with conservatives long enough! Now they're way out there over the line and it's time for the big purge!!!

Some body tell me what kind of a Senatorial "process" these yahoo's are following anyway? If they're playing "DEAL, OR NO DEAL," well guess what we should be slamming down on their sticky fingers!!!

We need to get busy here in CA by taking our state and local Party leadership back in conservative hands, immediately and firmly!!!

I've heard the Bushes are 'comfortable' with hispanic culture.

What else matters?

I know that, when he ran for the Senate, I supported and voted for Mel Martinez — but next time he has to run I will support and vote for anybody that runs against him — Bugs Bunny, Osama bin Laden, Billary — ANYONE!

That makes at least two of us. So don't feel like you were the only one who got stooged - I was too.

The GOP is not as important as the country. His rape statement is powerful. Rush, Savage, and the other can’t let up. Savage, who I can’t listen to for too long, has been saying it for years. Borders, Language, Culture. Keep pounding Rush. This is way bigger than a party.

This bill that allows instant citizenship by the bogus paying of a fine is a setup for the kill hit for the Republican Party. Here is how it will be done:

First off, anyone who is willing to break the law coming into this country is willing to commit crimes to pay for the fine. Expect an increase in crime as these lawbreakers steal property and sell drugs to pay for their amnesty.

Next, after the fine is payed, with SB 1348 you are instantly a citizen. This creates an instant voting block guaranteed to vote DemonRAT because these new citizens would also get instantly plugged into the welfare roles. Once you are plugged into the welfare system, you are dependent on the DemonRATs; who use the public trough as a means to purchase the vote.

And the unions would get new dues paying workers. With union dues, the DemonRAT Party gets a monetary shot in the arm with campaign money. There will be no Republican candidate that could outspend them.

And with campaign finance reform, any counter attack, at the most strategic time, has been shut down.

Remember the rallying cry for George the first was "It's the economy stupid".

The rallying cry for George II should be "It's amnesty stupid".

really want to see the death knell of the Republican party, ignore the need to expand the tent to include these minority groups. you are naive (idealistic) to think they will vote Rep. Rector from the Heritage Foundation was on Mark's show yesterday. He gave a good explanation of why that will NEVER happen. the will vote mostly Demo because they will get more goodies. Its human nature. If this bill is signed the left will have succeeded in destroying this Republic. We will eventually just be another balkanized third world country in 50 years.

I don’t remember what it was but it was a comment from Hunter on this amnesty bill.

"The world is watching our southern border, as long as they realize that it's open. When we pass a bill that gives people the impression that there are new benefits to be had in the United States, and that's the Senate bill, you will have a stampede for the U.S. border that will overwhelm our border forces."

So insisting that our government enforce the laws that are already on the books and secure our borders before they pass more unenforced laws is juvenile?

Illegal immigrants kill 13 people every day by driving drunk, and additionally murder 12 people every day. None of this so-called "reform" is going to fix that.

The only real fix will be to shut off access to what is attracting these people. Severely fine businesses that hire illegals, and end access by illegals to welfare, healthcare, Social Security, and education. They will go home on their own if they have no reason to stay here.

It should be titled: The GOP Extinction Act
Any Republican Senator who votes for this atrocity is too stupid to hold office and should be voted out of office. If they don’t care whether the Republican Party dies as a result of the importation of millions of new Democrats, why should we bother to re-elect them?
I wanted to get in to Rush’s program today with the thought that we are not just talking about Mexicans and South Americans in this bill. Muslims will be included, of course, and if we haven’t learned a lesson from the French experience with second and third generation Muslims/”homegrown terrorists”, then we don’t deserve to keep our nation.

Th reason is clear — as it has always been clear — Bush is a liberal. A liberal that understands Economics 101; supports a strong defense; and, doesn’t believe in killing babies — but, a liberal nonetheless.

In short, Bush is what used to be called a Southern Democrat before many of those folks migrated to the Republican Party in the aftermath of LBJ's Great Society, and the disgraceful conduct of the Democrats during the Viet Nam war.

What you are saying about the demographics may indeed be true...but if you think the illegals who gain citizenship via this amnesty bill will vote for the GOP, you are only fooling yourself.

What the amnesty bill will accomplish is adding 15 million Democrat voters...and, as the gift that keeps on giving, millions and millions more Democrats will gain citizenship as the relatives of the former illegals arrive like clockwork.

More immigration equals more Democrat voters. Ted Kennedy gets it? Why doesn't George Bush?

What neither of them seem to get is that more immigration of people who hate America, or at least have no regard for its laws, equals more voters who hate America and have no regard for its laws.

Why would they continue to vote either Democrat or Republican, when they can start voting Reconquista?

Indeed, my thinking exactly. The GOP is an iceberg that has broken away and is headed south where it will dissolve into nothingness. Let it go. The new party should be called the ???????

There is an element of good in this: the GOP candidates cannot sidestep the issue of immigration now. No pro-amnesty candidate has a chance of the nomination, not withthe base this angry, and the field will thin on this issue.

There's a while before this bill comes to final form and gets sent to Bush for his signature. It will likely be greatly changed after the House gets it, and there is still plenty of time to let the GOP know that they'll live or die (politically) on this issue.

Even Bush may blanch when he sees how low his approval numbers go after this.
