Dear Heavenly Father, we lift our voices up to You this day, in praise and in thanksgiving for Your righteousness and love that You have shown to us, Your creation. We thank You for Your promises to hear our prayers and praise You for the assurance we have that Your promises are true. We place complete confidence in You and trust You for the answers to the prayer that we are about to present before Your Holy Throne.

Dear Lord, we praise and thank You for a Godly President who seeks to honor You with his life and to serve You. We continue to ask for guidance for him, moment by moment, as he seeks to make decisions which honor Your word, and show Your love to others. We call upon You to protect him as he travels and grant rest and blessing both to him and to Laura this weekend. We thank You for their faithful service to You and ask that they might both seek Your Kingdom first, and that Your abundant blessing might be showered upon them both as they serve You.

We pray, dear Lord, for our troops who are in harm’s way, both in Iraq and Afghanistan, and especially pray for the three who have been kidnapped that You would shield them from harm and make Your presence known to them. Lord, we thank You for all those who are willing to give up their own freedom and security to serve this nation and protect its people. We ask that You would blanket each one of them with Your protection and that You would help each one of them to know that You love them, and that they are loved by most of the American people who look at them with gratitude and respect. We pray, dear Lord, for those who have been wounded in battle, that they might be healed, and for the families and loved ones of those who have fallen, that they might be comforted.

Finally, dear Father, we pray for this nation, and ask that You would forgive us for our many sins against You. We pray that the dark blot of abortion might one day be ended, and we thank You for President Bush’s strong stance in protecting the lives of the unborn, and ask that You might raise up a leader who will carry on with his desire to return America to a place that honors the sanctity of life. We pray for each representative, asking that You might grant wisdom in dealing with difficult decisions. We pray that they might stand strong for the sovereignty of this nation, and for honoring the laws on which it is founded, and on Your laws. We thank You for each person who gathers here to pray, and ask that everything said and done here would be to Your honor and glory. In the strong and loving Name of Jesus, who is the Christ we pray, Amen!

Prayers, too, for the new Sarkozy government of France to set that lost country back on the proper course again, and added prayers to convince the President and sane members of Congress to put the kibosh on the shamnesty deal that threatens to obliterate law and order as well as national security. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you this evening, unsure of what exactly has transpired to make our sister, OhioWFan leave us after so many years of faithfulness on this thread; but knowing full well that it would never have been a decision that she made lightly or in haste. Lord, may you bless her greatly as she seeks to lead others to seek YOU. May you fill her heart with the things that glorify You and edify her and Your church. And may You give her insight as she continues her prayers for this President and this nation elsewhere. As to those who have disagreed with her on this thread; I pray that You would speak to their hearts as well and give them Your peace. Each and every one of us has opinions and Free Republic has been a forum that has allowed us the privelege of expressing them for many years now. Certainly, there have been times where abuse has occurred on this forum and has gone unpunished. You have seen those times from the beginning of this forum even until these recent days. You know the hearts and the motivations behind what was levied. I pray that Your truth will prevail in the hearts of the abusers, and that those who have ill-will towards this nation and wish failure for this President will lose their ability to post here. Regardless of how one has felt about President Bush's policies, we simply do not have the liberty to pick and choose when we should pray for him. If he has made a mistake with the "Amnesty" bill, then it's not time to give up praying for him but to double up on those prayers. For, Lord, we know he is but a man, with feet of clay. But we know that the God of the Universe controls his fate and the fate of this nation. And so, we lift him up to You. We lift our congress up to You. We lift this forum up to You knowing that those who shun You now will one day bow before You. May You be glorified in all that we say and do and may You bless this nation and our President with all of the spiritual blessings that are needed for such a time as this. In the precious name of Christ Jesus I pray these things. Amen.

By the way, this isn’t the first time someone posted something here that the mods deleted. Lately I’ve seen deleted posts in the Prayer threads. Not as many as today...but it’s happened before. But give the mods credit where credit is due - the posts were already deleted when I came along. Nobody made a fuss over them, and they weren’t disruptive to the thread. This isn’t the first attack, it is the first successful one.

Well, I just wanted to tell you, in case you weren’t aware.

What a wonderful prayer.

I pray for President Bush every day and I pray that our Heavenly Father will continue to guide him and sustain him as he gets through the trying days that would otherwise deplete his and the First Lady’s energy.

Truly they must walk with the Lord for he grants them the courage to guide our country.
