I’m not a lawyer. Correct me if I’m mistaken. IF this doesn’t, in essence, change or supercede laws now on the books (unenforced, of course) what will those who enforce laws be expected to DO?

I think you misspelled "Disgust". Good find. I heard elsewhere the bill is some 700+ pages long, and may not be available for viewing for another week, But I'll check this out.

If this bill goes through and then all of a sudden we discover that they are REALLY 20 - 30 millions illegals here, that means that there will be at least 100 million illegals in the country within the next 20 years (all with no health coverage) beings wards of the state. I will not stand by and let this happen to me or my family. I will not allow them to saddle me and my family with this kind of debt.

Keep in mind- this is a draft. Given that- it’s hard to know how much of the “good” or “bad” stuff is in this draft...but it’s here for us to browse through at any rate.

You’re correct- I misspelled digusst ;)

I don’t have to read this to know it will be a bad bill. I am against any and all amnesties regardless of the few carrots they try to throw us.
It should just be called the ‘No Illegal Left Behind Act of 2007’.

But thanks anyway! ;)

This bill has the same provision for ag workers that was in Reid’s version. Contrary to the White House’s claim, amnestied ag workers will be eligible for welfare—after five years—and without a green card. All they will need to have is a Z visa.

As with the Reid bill, they get a discount on Z visas that no one is talking about. Their “fine” is not 1000 bucks. Its a hundred bucks. What a sweet deal ... come into the country illegally, pay a 100 buck fine, and collect benefits from the U.S. taxpayer.

>>(i) An alien making an initial application for Z-1 28 nonimmigrant status shall be required to pay, in 29 addition to the processing fee in subparagraph (A), a 30 penalty of $1,000. <<

So it costs $1000 plus some "processing fee" less than $500 to become legal immediately. Need some kind of proof of employment -- but we don't know what loopholes are in it, nor how many more will sneak in later. This is on page 265. I thought we were promised they would "go to the end of the line?"

They will be required to give the illegals special treatment, easy access to our Social Security, Welfare, health care and education. They will be required to do everything in their power to insure that illegals REPLACE us as citizens and occupants of this land.

amnestied ag workers will be eligible for welfare—after five years—

I hate to tell you this but NOONE enforces the 5 yr thing now. Legal immigrants sign a form saying they will not apply for benefits for 5 yrs, it is not enforced either.

California has a special Social Security Disability program specifically for illegal aliens. Drag grandma across the border and sign her up!
This amnesty will be the largest increase to the welfare rolls you have evewr seen. Their anchor babies already qualify and receive all the benefits. How do you think they live on $1k a mnth and still send money home?

I haven’t found that part yet...where did you find that in the draft? Page?

My head is spinning..

...which may well be part of the plan. (and admittedly tin-foil moment)

LOL! The Al Qaeda Open Borders Entry Act Of 2007. The politicians can't even be honest about shamnesty. There, fixed the Orwellian and misleading descriptive title.

Come on now, only 40% are on welfare ...well, I guess it is true that alot of the rest are in prison or jail.

Secure Borders, Economic 2 Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007

Should instead be Border Opening Hideously Idiotic Capitulation Act.

Or BOHICA for short.
