For some of us, it's already a laughing matter. Especially when renowned scientist, well-known thinker and mensa international member Leonardo DiCaprio tells us that humans will soon be extinct because of man-made global warming.
Global warming believers will never stop believing. It could snow in Miami every July for 10 years in a row and they would just claim it is a result of GW and we are ignorant morons for not seeing it.
L. Ron Gore has created a new global religion. He is their spiritual leader. Nothing will shake the beliefs of the GW minions.

I have considered it a joke ever since it was mentioned. Anyone remember a few decades back when the scientists were all supposed to be predicting the next ice age due to man’s pollution?
The lefties always have to have a strawman, an urgent threat that they can claim to save you from. Why? So that you will accept the laws they pass restricting your freedom, cause you need to be saved from the threat.

I doubt it. Too many people have a stake in it to ever let it die. If you've based your scientific career or political power base on something, you're going to resist any threat to it, no matter how much evidence there is. If we were back in the 17th century, we'd be attacked as phlogiston deniers.
There is a real danger that the true believers will dominate and THEN it will be "1984" Orwellian style, because sacrifices must be made to preserve the planet.
