Illegals bill sinks Bush job approval
The Washington Times ^ | May 20,2007 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 05/20/2007 8:26:32 PM PDT by ding_dong_daddy_from_dumas

President Bush yesterday used his weekly radio address to urge listeners to support the immigration deal reached by a handful of senators last week, even as new poll numbers showed the immigration issue is hurting Mr. Bush's job-approval ratings....

But the deal is too harsh for some lawmakers, and not strict enough for others. Its fate could depend on whether senators, and the voters who elected them, view the deal as an amnesty for the estimated 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the country....

Meanwhile, a new Rasmussen Reports poll found Mr. Bush's approval rating dropped to an all-time low for that poll, at 34 percent.
"The president's ratings have tumbled each time immigration reform dominates the news," Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, said in his analysis.
Mr. Rasmussen said that his polling last year, after Mr. Bush gave an Oval Office address laying out his plans for more border enforcement and giving illegal aliens a path to citizenship, found only 39 percent supported the president's position.

I think we will see some other amnesty politicians fall in the polls.

I just cannot comprehend how a sitting President could or would even think about taking the nation down a path that will destroy her, the culture,

very good post! I too cannot comprehend how someone around President Bush tell him that this will destroy his Presidency. I cannot logically understand his seeming obsession with allowing a tidal wave of illegals destroy our beloved Republic. I pray to God that somehow enough Senators do the right thing. If Bill is passed and President Bush sign's it into law, then he will be signing the Death Certificate of the United States. I too weep for our beloved nation.

I think it was Dumas, Texas.
legend of ding dong daddy

>>And, can we watch you strut?<<
No, I like this version (Bob Wills):

I'm a Ding Dong Daddy From Dumas, Babe
You oughta see me do my stuff
I'm a Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas
I don't wanna get get rough

If that's your gal tie her to your side
If she flags my train I'm gonna let her ride

Haha. That's the Texas version! (stuff vs strut)

I heard Leon Redbones do a little of it one night.

Argument settled, I think.

Thanks, FRiend.

BTW, there's a pullout with a picnic table on the east side of 287 just south of 87. I've had a few night's sleep there when I was a trucker. Been a while though. Is it still there? :)

:O)

LOL. Hey man, no more comedy. You’re ruining a turbocharged pity party.

Are you calling this a pity party? More like a SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF party.

I am beyond pissed off. But in order to maintain an even strain and to avoid evolving into a bonafide curmudgeon; I will still laugh at a good joke (e.g. Porterville’s comment).

Jim Rob thinks this amnesty could put Bush in the teens....I wholeheartedly concur with his analysis.......

Put him into the teens? I'm so fed up with this guy I just wish it would push him out of the Whitehouse.

His old man's incompetence gave us Bill Clinton and now this pathetic guy is going to give us the Hildebeast.

I'm damned tired of the Bushes.

Talk about sticking it to the only supporters left for the Iraq war. Is this his way to get out of the war?

RE: Your first photo.

You do know Bush was a trained and experienced cheerleader in college?

I'm just happy he didn't get Dr. Rice and Dick Cheney up there to do a pyramid with a dropping roll and tumble :^(

That's probably what Bush Sr. and Slick William talk about on their golf outings. They're great buddies.

What a mess Mr. George Bush has made of every issue.

You sound like Jimmy Carter.

Democrats call President Bush "Mr. Bush."

Democrats suck.

President Bush hasn't made a mess of tax cuts. He hasn't made a mess of The War On Terror. He hasn't made a mess of appointing constructionist judges. He's continued to support Israel and stand his ground in Iraq in the face of an anti-conservative mainstream media flogging. He's on the right side of almost every issue.

As to your tag line, Democrats want to weaken America in every conceivable way; Republicans want to strengthen their country. Republican politicians largely will listen when you express your dissatisfaction regarding illegals. Democrat politicians largely will not.

Pay attention.

I wish I still did, it's rather sad.

I dunno, maybe backing a Palestinian state?

Or playing pattycake with Iran?

Or telling us that Islam is a religion of peace?

Your list is a good start.
How about not vetoing excessive spending bills passed by congress.
Letting Kennedy write his education bill.
NOt standing up to his critics .
Running a political war in Iraq instead of letting our troops just kick ass?

I can go on for a while here.

Ok, you heard it here first. Let me be the first to predict this, Bush is going to resign and Cheney is gearing up to take the helm.

Notice how Cheney is more visible in the news lately?

By the way, anyone know where he stands on this amnesty crap?
