The war is one issue I do not begrudge the man. We should realize that a protracted war against Islamofascism is an unconventional war like others we have fought. In my mind, I have always envisioned a commitment of a decade - or more. The problem is that we are not informed and kept involved as a people. The treasonous press, of course, does everything in its power to see to that.

I now care much more for each American soldier in arms than the entire population of the mideast.

For allowing so many illegals in, for failure to control our border, for pushing over and over for amnesty and much more... he needs to be GONE. Hell, YES, he needs impeaching, convicting and removal from office like YESTERDAY.

Then all past POTUS's should have been impeached and all former leaders of Congress should have been removed from their leadership posts. I see you are a long time freeper and were here when Clinton was in office. Can you show me one post you have done where you called for Clinton's impeachment for failure to secure/ close the borders during his 8 years in office? I would like to see if you called for his impeachment too. If you did, you are one of a very few around here that has been consistent. If not, you are a hypocrite and have no credibility.

I was primarily pissed at the clown for his misuse of the military, misuse of his interns and general misuse of the country (FBI files, dealings with arafat and Israel and on and on, ad nauseum). The borders were not such a big deal then, because we were not in a war wherein enemy combatants were slipping across our unguarded southern border. NOW WE ARE AND THEY ARE AND NOW WE HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO SPECIFICALLY REFUSES TO CLOSE THAT BORDER. There IS, in fact, a difference. And it’s pretty major. So there is no hypocrisy, not enough to matter, anyway. But, to ease your mind, I would also be more than willing to see ANYONE ELSE who has not consistently voted or worked to secure our borders properly be removed from political or any other governmental office and, ten minutes after a fair trial and conviction, have a nice long and drawn out bath in a vat of boiling oil. Then his or her rotten carcass could be used as fill for the border fence project. Fair enough?

Fair response. I beg the differ though, we have been at war since 1993 with Al Qaeda when they bombed one of the twin towers. Osama Bin Laden declared open war against the US in 1996 and middle eastern men are believed to have been involved with Tim McVeigh in the OKC bombing. The borders should have been secured after the 1993 bombing but they were not. The same people calling for GW’s impeachment, which I will stand with him any day, should have been screaming for the borders to be closed then. They were not, and they were not calling for Clinton’s impeachment for failing to do so. That is hypocritical and I will continue to point it out.

Illegal immigration has been a problem for 50 plus years and no president or any leaders of Congress, like Newt, did a damn thing about it. True. We here in the Southwest have been screaming our heads off about it for decades, but until the advent of talk radio, we just couldn't get the rest of the country to listen. Now, at last, we are being heard.
You throw this is GWs lap and some here call for his impeachment over this that other Presidents like Reagan, who is revered and should be, get a pass on
Reagan's hands were tied by a Democratic congress, so he did the best he could with a bad situation. He lamented in his diary, "we have lost control of the border", and probably would have done a lot more if it had been in his power. Even so, the 1986 "one time" amnesty wouldn't have been so bad if the other half of the bargain (future enforcement) had actually been kept, which it wasn't.
On the other hand -- GWB had a Republican house, a Republican senate, and if he was phobic about being falsely called a "racist", then 9/11 was the PERFECT "excuse" to close the border without incurring that standard liberal slander. Yet, he squandered his opportunity, and indeed has proven since that he brazenly supports an open border!
GWB is the OPPOSITE of Reagan.

What actions, all I have seen out of him and the Congress is naming a bunch of new Court Houses after a bunch of Washington Blowavators. Raising the minimum wage after 25 years, and a lot of vacations. Actions my foot, Action is when you close the borders, throw out all of the Illegals, and get out of Iraq with our self esteem intact.. Action...

As I noted in an earler post, we in the southwest have been screaming, howling, bursting blood vessels over this immigration problem for many decades. We wanted the borders closed in 1993, we wanted them closed in 1973. Only now, as vast hordes of illegal Mexicans have moved out of the Southwest and are starting to trash the whole rest of the country -- and, as talk radio and the net give us a voice we never had before -- are people finally hearing us. But this is how we've always felt.
We're not hypocrites. You just never listen to us before.

Well if Bush’s stance on the border is “BLATANT, OVERT, CAPITAL TREASON” then we’ll have to impeach three quarters of the Senate and half of Congress plus Bill Clinton again. Get real.
